If we play the same formation with Lucas ahead of Nagbe then I would suspect you we should see Morris sitting a behind Nagbe as the #6. The thing about playing Lucas wide is then you might find that he is isolated and doesn't get enough of the ball. He also doesn't provide much of a stretching the field type of options so I am not sure it uses the best of his abilities.
I don't think defense is our problem really. Sure we could tighten that up a bit but we gave up 45 goals with an expected goal against of 45. I think with Moriera and Degenek we should be better on that side of the ball. The real issue is the lack of wing production from this team. Diaz, Etienne, Santos, Molino, and Matan played a combined 6,762 minutes last season. They totaled 7 goals and 9 assist. You would expect much more production from those positions. Fifa Picault had 11 goals and 4 assist in 2600 minutes playing for Houston, Dairon Asprilla had 10 goals and 3 assist in 2280 minutes for Portland and Robin Lod had 9 goals and 4 assist in 2000 minutes for Minnesota. If this team wants to make the playoffs it has to score more goals from the wing position.
Why you got to come in this thread and derail our conversation about our admiration for the lovely WAG of one our young players?
I'd hope for close to 15 goals from Gyasi if he stays healthy and doesn't miss too many games with the nats. Do we know if they are playing on Crew matchday yet? Berry may get close to or over 10 goals but I wouldn't be surprised with a bit of regression. He was rough on FCC but they'll probably be better. For Igbekeme, I'll guess 2 goals and 3 assists as a baseline. If we gave up 45 last year, let's hope to keep that under 40, and maybe less than 1 goal per match. That would help a lot but doing it requires not just eliminating the giveaways we had too many of last season, but also a commitment to defending which will likely reduce our offensive output. That seems Porteresque and likely.
It seems to be anyone's guess, but I'd say it's doubtful. As of now, there are no conflicts. However, USSoccer.com only shows a few games. Obviously, there'll be more added. The current dates are within five windows: early spring (March), late spring (May or June), late summer (August or September), autumn (October and November).

I spent the whole offseason complaining about our lack of production from the wingers. Etienne was a USL level player last year. However, credit where it is due. *3 games in and we have seen a lot more end product from the wide spots. *Up a man a lot and Toronto soooooo
Etienne has been playing great so far. Yesterday he scored a goal, assisted on another, had one called back for offside, and got a header on frame.
Derrick Etienne Jr. borrowing a line from Last Dance when asked about his game to start this year:"I had to hear all the things about how we're not creating chances and all that stuff, and I took that personally." #Crew96— Jacob Myers (@_jcmyers) March 12, 2022
