When thinking about the possible DPs that maybe available, along the wealth the club has behind the franchise to attract a big star. Can you think of a better place to play than America's finest city. Therefore, I wondering if they may want to make a huge splash into the league than signing Neymar. Neymar's current contract happens to expire in 2025. By the time FC San Diego kicks off, he would be 33 years old, that would make him two years older than when David Beckham joined the Galaxy. You would think he would still have a good four or five productive years left in his career. So what do you think about FC San Diego going after Neymar.

Modric - 37 (but I think he will play into his 40's)
    Vardy - 36
    Benzema - 35
    Neuer - 35
    Messi - 35
    Lewandowski - 34
    Henderson - 32

Personally would not be a big fan feels like it feeds every negative stereotype of MLS being an entertainment company rather than a serious league. Also Neymar could be the worst example of this. He has not always been the model pro while playing for Barcelona and PSG so what's he going to be like in MLS? He seems to always be injured around his Birthday and Carnival, not saying there is anything to that but PSG supporters certainly do. And on the Injury front MLS is a physical league, how many games will he actually play?

I want the club to just focus on being a serious organization. If they build a winning team I believe the supporters will come out. Now if we're linked with Salah I'm all in :D

When looking at the FC Nordsjælland roster, you are most assured that some of these players with end up playing for FC San Diego. One of the young talents in Danish Super League is a midfielder named Mohammed Diomande. From what I have read about him he would be a future star for the club.

Another possibility from FC Nordsjælland is Ernest Nuamah. He is a dynamic scoring forward who leads the club with 11 goals so far this season and he is only 19 years old.

Benjamin Nygren is another possibility for FC San Diego, he is a 21 year old forward with FC Nordsjælland.

Actually, I think he will be in San Diego, coming over during the 2025 summer transfer window. Also Vegas isn't getting a team ever. Besides the Soccer Don stated if MLS was to expand to 32, it wouldn't be even begin to be discussed till no earlier than after 2027 or 2028. Which means teams 31 and 32 wouldn't take the field till 2031 or 2032. Which the Soccer Don said would be after a new commissioner had taken over. The next phase for MLS is to normalize the league and grow the league through MLS Next Pro.

I hope they are actually going to try to become a soccer team with a performance and development focus, instead of a marketing gimmick.

No Neymar or any other 30+-year-old over-the-top people, please. That's all that's wrong with American 'soccer'.

hope the SDFC brass was watching City.
They stockpiled players on their B club in the MLSNP a year before the senior team was introduced. So the players were used to playing together. The Senior team hit the ground running and never looked back.

It doesn't look like there is any plan to have a roster playing in the lower division next season, and I think the build out is going to look more like LAFC that City SC, although both had terrific 1st seasons in the league. Not to mention great fan experiences. I'm a little concerned about the stadium share with SDSU football, soccer and the NWSL. The field looked terrible for this last Sunday's Wave FC playoff game the night after college football. A 25,000 seat stadium would have made better sense too. But it is a great venue with excellent trolley access.

Humm still opens for me but there were a bunch of sites publishing the same rumor. Even got discussed on ESPN (although that doesn't say much since ESPN is pretty much clickbait nowadays).

Not saying I completely believe it but it's been around for about 6 months and the KDB side isn't completely denying it. So that's something.

San Diego FC is acquiring Christopher McVey in a trade with DC United. The 27-year-old Swedish center back is set to join SD ahead of its inaugural season. DCU will get $50K in GAM and another $50K in add-ons in the deal.

Tyler Heaps says that San Diego FC currently have 16 players signed, as 3 more contracts have been finalized but not officially announced by the club yet.
SDFC now plan to add 10 more players, for a total of 26 on the roster.
Approximate breakdown of the 10 more players to be signed by San Diego FC:
    • 2 or 3 more international players from outside MLS
    • 2 or 3 from MLS SuperDraft
    • 2 or 3 from trades in MLS
    • Maybe 1 from MLS Re-Entry Draft Stage 2
    • Another DP
