That was one of the most pitiful fields I have ever seen for the USA Mexico match tonight. I always thought the high school soccer at Five Star Stadium was bad, but that was worse. If that was how the turf looked after they spent weeks fixing it up, the original turf must have been the parking lot. I don't think I saw one ball roll smoothly for more than 3 feet. It is a shame, because in a year without much World Cup buildup, this was a heated and much anticipated match. Too bad they had to play it on something less than a reasonable field. Maybe they could play next time at Sports-O-Rama. It was almost as good!!!!
First, maybe they didn't spend weeks fixing up the turf. If Rob Stone is to be believed, they laid that grass nine days before the game. Second, if you want to discuss the field conditions - and there's no reason why you shouldn't - go here: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=48041 Locked for not being Rapids related and already having a thread elsewhere.
