Mourinho just doesn't coach this team. His game plan is to get as many players behind the ball, hope the other team gives it away and then score on the counter. When the other team doesn't do that, there is no plan B (come to think of it, there is no plan A either).

Somewhat predictable, Mourinho blames the coronavirus.

I read a comment somewhere else to the effect that Everton bought with purpose, while we were rummaging for bargains. They could do well this year. I wondered after the game if Mourinho has ever worked with a limited budget like that. Not since Porto, probably.

The Mourinho Moan-A-Meter excuse machine (pick one or a combination of the below to explain away defeat):

    1. Fixture congestion.
    2. Brexit.
    3.Injuries.
    4. Lack of options on the bench (which is quickly followed by a recitation of all the players available on the other team's bench).
    5. COVID-19.
    6. Tanguy Ndombele.

This is a clip from All or Nothing. If you don't want to hear Jose crapping on the team, here's Hugo making the same points:

Like I said, the current squad is not good enough. There is so much deadwood at the club, but instead of getting rid of the shite players and investing in quality replacements, all we hear about is how lazy Tanguy Ndombele is and we are linked with players like Alexander Sorloth who could barely get a game at Palace.
Unfortunately, the only man at the club who doesn't understand this is the only one who has the power to change it.

We are the Cleveland Browns of English football.

The Cleveland Browns of English football? Really?

No one's happy at the moment. That we've gotten quite a few things wrong over the last year is inarguable. That we'll want to grumble about it is inescapable. But would it kill ya to tone down the hyperbole just a tad?

A football team that was once a model organization in the 1960s, now plays in a beautiful state of the art stadium, constantly changes its coaches, boasts an incredibly loyal fan base and hasn't won its league championship in over 4 decades.

Which one is Tottenham and which one is Cleveland?

The Cleveland Browns have had one winning seasons in the last 15 years. They accumulated a single win over two seasons a few years back. They are utter shite and have resided firmly at the arse-end of the NFL for two generations. If there were relegation in American football, they'd be the 6th best team in Cuyahoga County high school football.*

Spurs, over the same time frame, have qualified for Europe in all but one season. In the same two seasons that the Browns won a total of one game, Spurs finished 3rd and 2nd, respectively, and were in the hunt for the title into April. We followed that up by reaching the final of the most prestigious club tournament in the world. We've had two managers since the summer of 2014, which (without looking it up) I'd guess is fewer than all most teams in the Prem. Promotion/relegation insures that there is no club analogous to the Cleveland Browns in the Premier League. And if there were, it certainly wouldn't be Spurs.

*to be fair, that last bit is hyperbole, as well.
