This match has got me questioning everything I thought I knew. Facing the worst team in the league, we struggled as never before. It took Mo Diame to come on as a sub and get our first shot on goal. I never thought I'd see the day. Joselu barely got a touch. Ritchie was uncharacteristically ineffective, although he worked hard as usual. Palace had the better second half, but on our second corner of the match, Merino got a head to the ball before it was almost headed clear. Quite a fortunate goal, and the only thing we looked like scoring all day, unless you count that Atsu shot that Dann had to block with his face. Surely that was headed for 0-0. It feels like free points!
