I saw a brief announcement in the Pittsburgh Trib - review. I've copied it below: The Women's Premier Soccer League, which produced 80 players to the now defunct WUSA, is coming to the region. The Steel City Sparks will begin play next season. The coach is John Kowalski (former Riverhounds coach). Tryouts to be held soon. I've no clue if this will be part of the Hounds organization or not.
Last day of tryouts was today. The Steel City Sparks have signed several WUSA players and had players from WVU, Miami (Fl), NC State, Virginia Commonwealth, and James Madison (as well as several local schools) at their tryouts.
A partial roster has been posted http://www.steelcitysparks.com/ First exhibition games are May 15 in Avonworth http://www.wpsl.info/sparks.html
