Re: Dynamo shirt sponsors? I feel like jumping around and yelling culo to some reggaeton. Dddddamit man
Re: Dynamo shirt sponsors? doesn't this idiot in this picture realize that when pose with that dumb ass smile you are supposed to have one of those dumb as grills in your mouth. i sure hope we don't cater towards idiots like this.
Re: Dynamo shirt sponsors? that is a shame. i wish they would take the picture down off the web site. i am embarassed to have that on our site.
Re: Dynamo shirt sponsors? oh, i see. so he is one of those classy rappers who likes to "slap da ho" and other wonderful things like that. great. can't wait to have him hanging around the stadium. he should bring in some neat fans.
He's always been one of my favorites to put in my sets in Korea. Always had a hot reaction from the crowd. Mad rizpekt!
Be Happy we're getting our name out there. Las season Mike Jones took his pic with a Dynamo scarf. How is Pitbull any worse? None of it is bad publicity either. Hell, What other team can say they have fans in space with the astronaut we're sendin to the space station with his very own Dynamo scarf?
You beat me to it. Maybe I'm showing my age here but I don't have a clue as to who this guy is. Can someone enlighten someone here from the less hip generation (meaning older than you... )
He's a Cuban rapper from Miami. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitbull_(rapper) Did someone give him that jersey as a gift? It doesn't make sense why he would support the Dynamo. Maybe he's too cool to wear a Miami FC jersey......
Ok, now I know who he is...why should I care he's a Dynamo fan? (This is coming from a 2nd generation Cuban.) This sounds as relevant as Osama Bin Laden reportedly being an Arsenal fan. If he brought exposure to the game, or mentioned it in his songs, or otherwise promoted it, I'd be game. Otherwise, meh.
settle down. geez, some mls fans are so sensitive. what you are observing is something called Marketing. OK kids, can we all say it together MAR-KE-TING. the belief that all press is good whether it's bad news or good news (see R. Kelly, well never mind). i don't give a rat's ass about Pitbull and I'm sure his music sucks, but that's not the point. if this guy wears this jersey to a 4th tier awards show (i.e. Nickolodean Awards) and someone takes a picture and said picture ends up on the wires (news speak)...BAM. you got free press that what of cost you millions if you would have bought the inches/ad space. this is very important to an organization that has limited advertising $$$ (see Dynamo) to get their name/jerseys/colors recognition out there. i coined the phrase "guerilla marketing" to explain this phenomena. btw, i'm right you're wrong so don't waste my time by arguing above point and don't even try to argue that Neiman's/Saks wouldn't use Pitbull as a spokesman. Of course not asshat, but in case you haven't noticed in the scheme of things MLS is not Neimans'/Saks in name/brand recognition. PS - someone get Bushwick Bill a jersey ASAP!!!!!!! on an unrelated note. i never knew my extreme hatred for EPL and non-British EPL fans could get any greater until i read this sentence. EPL has now passed (#2) baseball/baseball skanks, (#3) journey/journey apologists and (#4) "i know it gets to 115 degrees in phoenix, but it's a dry heat" assholes on my hatred list.
(Insert cheesy Sesame Street music here) I hear Flavor Flav is a Red Bulls fan Or at least the drink...
Lots of rappers used to wear NHL jerseys in their videos and on stage and I don't think it made much difference in the television ratings or the popularity of the sport among young blacks. This isn't marketing. It's just fleeting visibility. No different than having some third-tier celebrity sitting in the stands at a game.
Wow, that was an aspect of the 90's I forgot all about. Gangbangers and (c)rapers in hockey gear. Making it dangerous to wear your favorite team's jersey, one video at a time. Just what Dynamo/MLS needs, that kind of street-cred.
