Now that Pires is working his way back into the squad I'm curious what everyone thinks about him 1) playing in the middle versus 2) playing on the wing. Last year his creativity on the wing was absolutely amazing stuff. Playing inside, he gives us a direct, swift attack through the middle that we really don't get otherwise. This year, we've got a lot more options on the wing (having added Kolo and Pennant to the mix), but no real creative juice in the middle. Is it time for Pires to move next to Vieria/Gilberto? Or is he too much of an asset on the wing?

I like the fact that Pires can run the show and play the wing. He can at anytime switch to the middle and try to push the attack, seems no reason to hold some one to a "position". Thought he looked good on Sat and is working hard to get 100%. Bye-bye Wiltord, I believe your days are numbered.

That's pretty much it. Both Bob and Fred have licence to roam from their wings when we have the ball, that's why Pires has such an influence on the game from his wing position.

Robert Pires is an outstanding player, the best right winger in the game...he'll show Dortmund, ill bet you that..He has outstanding pace and great technique as well...he is also very loyal to Arsenal...Real wanted him but Pires didnt want Madrid
