The Silverbacks just announced the signing of Alex Pineda-Chacon. I remember him well from his days in Miami. But, he seemed to fall from favor fast. Can someone tell me why he hasn't played much the last two years? I know that he bounced around from NE to LA. Have his skills diminished? What can we expect from him in Atlanta? How old is he?
Chicon is like 34 or so I think. Should be awesome in the A-League. A complete steal for Atlanta in my opinion.
APC was a complete bust for the last 3 teams he played for: Revolution, Galaxy and most recently Crew. I'm afraid his skills are fading fast.
If MLS considered a player who's signature was clearly discernable a valuable skill, then Chacon would still be up to the quality of play in MLS. Unfortunately for him, it's not. Good luck to him. though. I don't know if I'd say he was exactly bust for the Crew..didn't really get much real playing time. But I'm guessing he didn't perform too well during practices.
I think his signing will improve Atlanta. He does well playing in the southeast...but he's a bust when he plays in the northeast, midwest and far west.
