friend of mine put this together from our cameras, just a slide show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOWBXjyC7GI
Take a while for us to compile everything to put in our "Gallery" section but here a few good ones from the trip.
Great pic. Our newly formed US support group, Delaware Valley Infantry, brought two buses and coordinated a celebration at 20:10 for the year of the World Cup
I was wondering what that was at the tailgate. I thought Delaware Valley Infantry was a bunch of military guys that came from a local base or something. Why don't you guys just start an American Outlaws Philadelphia Chapter. They're more active than Sam's Army. http://www.theamericanoutlaws.com/content/view/15/30/
We'll work closely with all of the groups, but wanted a more region specific name. Philadelphia locals are more likely to support something founded locally.
some of my favorites ps whoever this is let me know, ill give you the fullsize. its an amazing picture.
Hello, This is Dennis L. Rubin, Chief of Fire and Emerge---I mean---. Hello, This is John Smith, Chief of DC Soccer Fans Lost and Found. Mr. SoB Davey you left you soccer ball in the stands at the game. I would be happy to mail it to you if you would simply provide us--I mean me--with your name, address and phone number. Thank you.
With someone else's lighter that you had to scrounge to find after you threw mine in the gutter after dropping it in your beer at the tailgate. Dickwad.
Just wanted to see if there are anymore pics from this weekend....hopefully next match we will all be able to sit together as it was kinda tough to get the songs to everyone in our section....just due to the fact that we were all so spread out. Neverther less great time was had by myself and those around me...I still have no voice.
Here is a good youtube clip: Here are the rest of the vids from tmdrdd: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showpost.php?p=15980385&postcount=107
Also, I like how some USA fans are supportive of their players. Especially ones of non-Caucasian background... EDIT-forgot to include sarcasm tag
Here are some videos of the half time drum circle.
Not sure how to describe it but....Ive been to plenty of US games and this in game and post game celebration blows everything away by far. Thats how games should be always!!!! Mad props to all supporters groups!!!!
Personal preference is to do the singing and pogo during the 90+ minutes of the match as opposed to going ape shizzle at half time on the concourse. Save it for the boys on the crowd. After the game, well that's a different story.
Right. I guess my rule of thumb is if the players are on the field, we should be vocal for them. Singing during halftime doesn't really do anything besides make you more tired and make your voice more sore so that you don't have the same amount of energy in the second half. After the game, to each their own. But the primary objective is to be the extra man on the field and to give the team or in this case country that extra adrenaline rush to push them to victory. By far the best support at a US qualifier this cycle thus far. The show has just begun, we have 6 more home games and a slew of road shows that must go on.
Make sense. It creates a competition amongst groups on who can drum out a larger turnout and have more tifo.
