Sorry to hear about your 68. It is a sad story indeed! So, no more Olds in your possession? They are so much fun to drive. My Cutlass also has the 350 Rocket V8 4 barrel, high compression motor and 3:23 gearing. A very fast car off the line and on the highway!
No more Olds - but the Lexus is pretty quick I remember pulling up to lights in the '67 next to guys in hopped up Nova's - I was in High school at the time... Green light they'd punch away to leave us behind thinking we were toast. Meanwhile, as my pedal hit the floor the engine would hesitate, almost stall, and then we would roar off like a rocket. We'd usually catch the other guy at about 60 MPH and blow his doors off. -- a dented up rust bucket four door sedan with a stencil under the window that read "beater car" in lovely script. But it was the 320 hp jetfire under the hood. got about 4 gallons per mile. Ahhhh. Good times.
This is my baby: 1994 Honda Accord EX. 167,000 miles. I've owned her since her birth. No major repairs except replacing the timing belt 2 years ago. Her fuel efficiency has dropped from around 32mpg to 19mpg in recent years. Her AC is long since dead, and her sound system has become radio only. I need her to last another year or two til I finish grad school. (The leaves and branches you see are traces of Hurricane Frances).
For all you need to know about driving on the left....wikipedia is a wonderful thing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rules_of_the_road
Ireland drives on the left, too. I don't have a car picutre to post up, since insurance on even a 1.2l Punto would cost me roughly $4,000. Not that I have any history or anything, but just because the insurance companies are allowed charge whatever they want over here (given they continue tosupply the gov't with those nice brown envelopes), and LOVE to come down especially hard on young males.
Our 1997 Honda Accord Special Edition has about 170,000+ miles and the only major thing that was replaced was the timing belt also. Everything is still good like the A/C, radio, etc. However, we can just feel that the engine is starting to get tired.
Re: its called big pimpin 1972 Chevrolet Nova SuperSport. Not even close to original or stock. 400+ bhp, low 12 second quarter.
