With ice hockey, our experience is that every team has a safety person who has undergone a course and should follow a predefined set of procedures should an injury occur. Coaches, manager, safety persons are all vetted. Rules are put in place ... two adults must be present when in a room with one or more players, etc. With soccer, I'll have to say, no, our club is not vetting our volunteers. There are no designated safety persons in case of injury. And I dont know how the insurance works for our local soccer clubs.
