Rodrigo "Pony" Ruiz allready played for Chile, would of made for a good call up though. I think Lavolpe has in mind Marquez and Bofo Bautista who he has called up to the U-23 squad a few times allready. Bravo would be a great third choice although we might get surprised with Zinha or even Gaitan !!!

Funny you should say that.. I caught a bit of Republica Deportiva and noticed their guest was none other than El Mejor Portero Mexicano de Todos Los Tiempos, Jorge Campos. According to el brody, Rafa was being looked at to play just the Olympics and not Copa America as his experience would be better used by a younger squad, unlike a senior squad full of World Cup vets. Copa America would see the return of Braulio Luna, Jesus Arellano and Cuauhtemoc Blanco, etc. Although, to add to your comment, Lavolpe has alluded to LMVCP lining up at the Olympics as well. So that theory about there being 2 different squads for the two tournaments is a bit weird and unclear at this point. For the senior squad, there are no more than 5 players from the U-23 that will field, so I see no reason for them NOT being able to play both summer tourneys. It's not like the full u23 will play around the clock. Que onda con eso?

I say bring all the bad mfers (Blanco, Rafa, Torrado, Oswaldo, Luna, Cabrito, Jared, etc.) to Copa America + the 5 U-23s JP Garcia, Mario Perez, Diego Martinez, Luis Ernesto Perez and Francisco Javier Rodriguez. For the Olympics, take the best 3: Cuauhtemoc Blanco Rafael Marquez Gerardo Torrado If we're going to really aspire for a medal, we should bring the best we've got, spare Oswaldo.
