Inspired by a post from another thread, I want to see if we can come up with various "crises" that have taken place throughout the history of America (or even then other nations) that were dealt with by Presidents and their administrations, place our current administration in that specifc circumstance, and hypothesize as to the result. For example:

    CUBAN MISSILE CRISIS

We'd all be in the Stone Age right now. Given the Bush Administration's diplomatic skill in taking the nearly universal good will of the world after 911 and turning it into what it is today, there is no doubt in my mind that Bush, unlike Kennedy, would have believed the Air Force when they said, initally, that they could take out 100% of the missile sites, launched an attack, missed 15% of them, lost the East Coast, and ensured a World War III begun with a nuclear exchange and a loss of American lives by the millions.

    No doubt at all.

Let me imagine for a second that you were in charge during a historical crisis. Hmmm, let's see...either we'd all be goose-stepping to Hitler Jr or we'd be standing in lines for two hours to buy bread instead of standing in lines for two hours to board roller coasters.

Crisis: 2002 - Universal begins posting on BigSoccer Politics board. Bullshit begins to pile-up like so many hidden camera pop-up ads. 500-word posts never make a point. Google apparently loses one paranoid user.

And the Bush administration does nothing. Sickening.

and of all the suckiness that Universal sucks, the most sucky is that you can't put him on your ignore list.

I'm 1/3 serious when I say I don't know if I'll renew my premium membership if we can't put mods on ignore. Or mods who aren't worthy of ignoredom.

Can't do it. The world today exists because of what events transpired in the past. You cannot traverse time and drop a person or a whole administration into a situation that has already happened...modes of thinking, how society judges actions, and global politics today are all influenced in some way by the past events. You might try thinking along the lines of "what if it never happened" or "what if it happened differently," but putting a person or persons into a past time period that they have learned from makes a judgement like this impossible.

Actually that's an issue that has already been raised to the Admins. Someone was pissed that they couldn't put another Premium Member on ignore because they were listed as mods in their personal forum.

All you dicks talk about ignoring Universal, yet you are steady posting in Universal's thread. Don't hate, celebrate. Universal brings more energy and asks more poignant questions than most of you humps ever will.

    btw:

SOMALIA: With Bush and Rumsfeld in charge, they would have obliterated that nation, with no measure to their application of "force."

    Rumsfeld...what a real MAN.

sometimes i get confused on the difference of questions and personal attacks in the form of a question. something makes me think this thread was a personal attack in the form of a question.

the only thing this thread could have possibly achieved was at best a level of shite knee deep and a lot of eye rolling.

btw xbunjikan your views on the bush administraition in somalia are just resoundingly prolific.

oh...there was the eye rolling i was talking about.

If you're trying to insinuate it's a TOS violation, try again. It's ok to personally attack the moron in the White House, but not the morons who post here.

My historical crisis is when the US needed to beat T&T to make it to the WC 90'.

If you place Georgie in Caligiuri's spot I think his 35 yard effort would've dribbled wide of goal and the US wouldn't of qualified!

1977 - THE TOP FORTY CHARTS

"We know that the Witch of November is in material breach," thundered George W. Lightfoot from the stage of the Sheboygan Amiptheater. "Too long she has deceived and denied. We have hard evidence, not merely Chippewa legends. We demand that she comply with the resolution, and give up her dead." It is said that such an act would be unprecedented. The Witch could not be reached for comment.
