I did something similar with the french national team and it worked perfectly.

I want to know more about the german national team because I play and edit my FIFA '06 game to include only the national teams of the world and I want them as accurate as possible. I don't know a ton about the german national team and I'm sure it looks much different post world cup anyway especially under new leadership.

I thought the best way to find out more about the germans is to ask the german fans SO.

What i'm asking is if you could select:

    your starting 11
    their 11 backups
then 6 alternates (including 1 more keeper)

you can give it to me in whatever formation you think they take the field.

Please don't list players that aren't active internationally. You can certainly call up youngsters (even if they have never appeared internationally). Please list only 3 keepers.

    I appreciate anyone who participates.

Also here is the link to the french thread in case you wanna take a look or have any questions. And certainly I will field questions too.

I rather see Lahm on the right side to have another left-footed player in the team. It's a tough choice between Jansen and Pander, based on current form I'd play them both and drop Schweinsteiger.

Nochmal auf deutsch, ich glaube das hat der Ein oder Andere etwas falsch verstanden: mrliioadin möchte eine komplette erste Elf, plus einer kompletten zweiten Elf und sechs zusätzlichen Alternativspielern.

I pretty much agree with that save for Federico and Schulz probably.

I think Schulz would be a great situational player. Decent versatile player, maybe Kehl instead of him though.

I tihnk Federico is a nice player...and what other German striker is better TBH? Neuville is definitely out and past it, Lauth still is a no, Asamoah just came back. Federico is also quite versatile

Right, I'd definitely prefer Kehl over Schulz. And instead of Federico I'd probably take midfielder K. Boateng even though he still has to prove himself. His talent is too obvious to pass on him. Keep in mind that Federico has yet to make an impression in the Bundesliga...

Oh well, 4 goals in 13 matches despite usually only coming on as a substitute due to a streak of injuries (for a rather weak team that later went into the 2. Bundesliga) actually is quite a decent mark IMHO!

Khedira is another great young player I really like. If he manages to stay free of major injuries from now on he may actually become a candidate next year.

Yup he reminds me a lot on the young Ballack, he has a fine skilled technique and a great understanding for the gameplay as well. I wouldn´t be surprised if he´s gonna be Ballacks successor someday

Borowski is only 3 or 4 years younger than Ballack so Little fairy may be right about that after all...

    four years.

so that means that borowski has four years to be the starting central mid :)

Theoretically, yeah. But we both know that theoretically doesn't always equal practically...

    ;)

Somehow I don't have the feeling that Borowski's NT future is going to be much different from what we have seen up until now (unless Ballack suffers some sort of heavy injury of course).

    Nah, I can.

Once schneider goes, he can move to the left and put schweinsteiger on the right.

Or he can replace frings or ballack depending on form as well.

Borowski could be a starter in any position in the midfield for us.

Why was he taken off against italy when he was playing so well?

I never denied that but there are also several other players who could take over those positions.

All I know is that the Italian media felt quite fortunate that he got the starting spot against them after seeing Schweinsteiger's gala performance one match later...

    :D
