Yes, the mystery reserve match really happened. Here are some shots to prove it. The crowd noise was deafening.

#6: Addlery takes a FK that Arguez pokes into the net.
#12: A hot dog and potato chips. Man, these pro athletes know how to live!
    #52: ALMOST Mupier's first goal
#63: Mupier and Boswell celebrate goal #3 (a header from Boswell put in by the Moops)
#72: Mupier's second goal. He shrugs off a defender and beats the keeper. (sequence)

Obviously the Reserve Game crowds have been too rowdy so DC United was penalized and had to play in an empty stadium.

I didn't recognize him, and he doesn't appear on the DCU roster. He might be some college kid training w/ the team.

For some reason I had thought that the Mupier trial was over and that he wasn't signed. Yet, there he was...

Matt, again great pictures as always. I think it might be a little late in the summer for the mystery player to be a college lad. It would be interesting to see who it is? Maybe one of the United Mania guys or Dave could find out.

During the first trip to Toronto this year we stayed for the reserve game and the place was so empty that we were able to ask the left back who certain players were. Even they were confused on a couple. :D

Am I the only one mourning the loss of the Sunday morning reserve games?

That was a great atmosphere...is it just a scheduleing quirk that they're gone or are they now extinct? And did any or it have anything to do with other teams not liking to play in front of an actual crowd?

Here's the MATCH REPORT, such as it is...

BTW, it wasn't Conway in goal for Mupier's last goal.

    I think it's just a scheduling quirk.

The schedule says we have one morning reserve match remaining, that on 10/8.
    Problem is, it's a Monday.

Aaron Chandler was #29, i believe... wikipedia says he currently plays for Columbus..
Then there was also Ronny Amaguaña, a Jamaican... friend of DeRoux or Addlery.. do these one off performers get paid to play a reserves match??????? or are these games a kin to an audition for them?
    thanks for the report.

Mupier is listed on the team's roster as a developmental player. I remember seeing the notice when he was signed, but I can't find it.

Are you sure that wasn't Jason Amaguana, DC staffer, or a family member of his? Jason's played in a reserve match before.

The match report from United's website might have gotten the name wrong!

I did a google search of the name Ronny Amaguaña and found this site:
    http://www.golocaljamaica.com/premierleague/scores/player_profile.php?id=725

I might have been wrong, he might not be Jamaican, but he plays or played in the Wray & Nephew National Premier League of Jamaica.

Anyone know what is going on?
EDIT: He is listed as a forward for Harbor View http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harbour_View_F.C.
