For whatever reason, the Fort Worth
Star-Telegram has restored to Tobias Lopez, perhaps a victim of his own provocative beauty, the 2 full columns he deserves (at the very least) this Wednesday and, most important,

his beaming visage is also back where it belongs next to the heading
    "Soccer Insider"

his topic today: "Timing of tournament really hurts Gold Cup"

also, better late than never, I'll report that, Saturday and Sunday,
the S-T ran stories re: FCD × 'Quakes (this is the good part) under PHOTOS, actual action shots! They do tend to draw attention so well compared to a story with no pic, don't they?

so imho here's a chance to praise the S-T for once

Senior Deputy Sports Editor/Cody Bailey (see below I got messed up)

    you gotta read Tobias. hit
http://www.dfw.com/ in your search engine and you'll eventually get to his Star-Telegram column if you're a computer smarty

The Science of soccer = Why didn't I think of this?:

    here's Tobias Lopez' last ¶:

Members of the U.S. national team have been experimenting with new technology for contact lenses that act as sunglasses....[edit]

....Marcus Hahnemann said: "They're amazing. You can look straight into the sun and still see the ball."
    ...[edit]...[end]

what do you think of that Waco4Burn?

This is great news. Another great way to support his work is to give him as many hits as possible, so get to clickin'!

And I love that contact lens news. Schweet.

Maybe it was just a one week thing due to other events then?

Nope. I spoke to him yesterday and he said it was a direct result of letters from readers - and he says "Thanks".

FWIW, usually when you see a request to send comments to editors (esp. from say Charlie or me), it is for a reason. To-Lo also confirmed that the emails we sent a few weeks back had a very positive effect.

Don't underestimate the power of positive reinforcement.
