Anyone else notice? Looking to make a loooooong weekend out of this. It is just a shame that the two games on the 3rd are concurrent and can't be turned into a doubleheader. Phillies at Cubs, 7/2, 7:05 local time Union at Fire, 7/3, 7:30 local time (Phillies game runs concurrent) Phillies at Cubs, 7/4, 1:20 local time
Sounds cool for the dual Philly baseball and soccer fans in the fanbase. I'm from the Pittsburgh sports-rooting area, so naturally baseball has been dead to me my entire life.
Great ballpark though. I went to Chicago last season for a Phillies-Cubs game. It was almost postponed due to the wildfire smoke.
It really is a nice park. The views are among the best I've ever seen at any park. And it's so cheap because the Pirates have sucked for decades. I met a guy one time that got front row seats behind home plate, flew from JFK to PIT, got a hotel downtown and it was still considerably cheaper than buying seats behind home at Yankee Stadium.
I took the train from Lancaster, got a hotel blocks from the ballpark, and worked on my book during the day in my room before going to the ballpark for the games. It's nice to combine work with baseball and reward myself for writing all day.
Just a heads up, but NASCAR will be racing the Chicago street course on July 7th. So there will likely be closed off sections of the city during these games. Not to mention hotels rooms will be hard to come by.
