As a Red Sox / Rockies fan, I'm frigging jealous of the Phils right now. You get Millwood for a freaking backup catcher! A #1-2, 3 at the worst on 3-4 team starter for a backup catcher. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/news/2002/12/20/millwood_phillies_ap/ I'll say this: The Braves went from geniuses to dumb mofos with this one. They could have gotten A LOT more for Millwood.
Yes! The time has finally come when Ed Wade is making good deals. I can't wait for spring training to start!
The Braves said they traded Millwood because they did not have the money at all to sign him. They were forced to do this by economics. Braves general manager John Shuerholz(sp?) went on and on at a press conference about how the economics in baseball sucked. I agree with him. This is a terrible trade forced by money. This kind of thing happens in the NFL all the time and it makes the league more competitive and exciting. I'm a Braves fan and I'm actually glad to see this happen a little bit. They might get off their tails this year and do something, now that they don't have a free ride to the playoffs. If only the league had a salary cap. Go Phillies and Mets!!!
I've said this before, this is one of the most mindboggling trades I've ever seen. But as a Phillies fan I am ecstatic.
and wheres john rocker when ya need to make fun of tom glavein for going to the mets and why diddt the braves get a first basemen and i wanna know why the ************ did they trade Spooneybarger and moss they were our future
John Rocker is a flaming a s s h o l e. His problems with teammates started long before the NY comments.
