Nice. May he finally catch a break with some consistent health and play, though I fear where he will be on the depth chart. Any expert on Feyenoord want to chime in?

Seems that he is off of Man City's books now:

They (both clubs and the player) made a rather complicated construction.
Feyenoord takes Philippe immediately transferfree from ManCity for the rest of the season..
Feyenoord has the option to extend the contract with a year, while ManCity has a buy back option.

Some good moments - a great line-breaking pass that almost led to a good opportunity, solid job winning a couple of headers. Encouraging, and part of a comeback form 2-0 to 2-2 draw very late.

  11. Feyenoord does not use option to buy Sandler. He leaves after this season.

Has there been any talk there of what his next destination might be?

This is a rather interesting case that doesn't get discussed much here because, I suppose, he was never really in the mix for the U.S. for whatever the reasons might be. He turns 26 next year with a bunch of big clubs on his resume, some long-ago YNT action for the Netherlands, and about a quarter the high-level first-team league appearances as Cameron Carter-Vickers (who I picked because he has the same YOB). What gives? Is it basically a loan army thing, more or less?

Lack of a consistent health and playing time. He's played 15 matches in the last five seasons. I've gone out of my way to try to watch him and still have no real feel of how good he can be compared to CCV/Miazga/EPB/Long. He hasn't had chances to prove himself.

Guess it wasn't too bad as he played and scored this weekend:

For NEC, the 3-3 in the home game against Go Ahead Eagles was generally a disappointing result, but for Philippe Sandler it was a beautiful afternoon. The 25-year-old defender returned to the Eredivisie after a long injury and made the important equalizer in the last seconds.

Sandler's career is characterized by the necessary injuries. At PEC Zwolle, Manchester City, Anderlecht, Troyes and Feyenoord, it was mainly about recovery. Fortunately, this was not the theme against Go Ahead on Sunday afternoon.
