Watching Timo is a lot like watching Messi — roams the field, walks around a lot, not playing defense, good vision… Another good save by Daniel!
The final score is: 0 – 1 GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G P.S. = Please don't post results of other soccer (including MLS) games and other sports' games in this thread until at least 24 hours after they've ended.
This is the San Jose Earthquakes’ first 3-0-0 start to an MLS regular season ever! That’s never even happened during The Golden Age (2001-2005), though the Earthquakes did start the 2003 season 2-0-1. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Wow, huuuuge effort...great great win....the young guys are getting it done, Munie and Roberts really solid....Benj and Jones had solid games...Man we caught a few breaks and Daniel bailed us out a few times. But overall we stood toe to toe against Philly at home and walked out with three points,...sweeeet.
One thing really different this year with the Quakes is that it feels like all the players are playing pretty hard, they’re not just getting a paycheck, not just giving up like they usually did. It’s kind of refreshing!!
Wow... color me very surprised. We played a really solid game against a good team. At least until the last sub and we lost the midfield. We're still defending too deep... that's eventually going to hurt us.
The Quakes are 3 & 0 which is is prety cool . GK Daniel had some beautiful saves but Bouda's goal was pretty awesome as well. Arena starting a 4-2-3-1 lineup with many domestic players. GK Daniel from Brazil D DeJuan Jones Michigan State Spartans D Reid Roberts San Francisco Dons D Daniel Munie Indiana Hoosiers D Jamar Ricketts Cal State Northridge M-F Benji Kikanović Sacramento State Hornets M Beau Leroux San Jose State Spartans M Ronaldo Vieira Guinea-Bissau M Niko Tsakiris De Anza Force F Ousseni Bouda Stanford Cardinal F Preston Judd Cal Baptist & Denver Pioneers Not sure if it will last but give me a bunch of College or HS grads who can win any day over a bunch of overpaid foreigners. So far so good Bruce!
This should move us to the top of the power rankings. Three consecutive shutout victories! Again, we played cohesively. We looked organized. Vieira was really good. Beau was better, but still not getting on the ball enough. Niko had a quiet game. Not nearly good enough. The defense was good. Munie and Roberts and Dejuan and Benji all played well. Benji needs to keep his head a little better. I liked our offense, but we need to score more. The Werner to Bouda connection looks like it’s going to be productive. I’m impressed. I had lost faith in Bruce, but he clearly knows what he’s doing. Go Quakes!! Go Quakesfans!!
