I know Panasonic is involved in the sponsorship with the stadium.. what do you think are the chances they'll land the jersey sponsorship too? (I'd still rather have Tastykake on the kit, to be honest )
Re: Panasonic Sponsorship? Panasonic's ads are definitely very present on the Union homepage, especially compared to the other Keystone and Marketing partners.
Re: Panasonic Sponsorship? hi ive been a long time reader and finally decided to post. i was thinking the same thing. i think it would be a good one to have because first of all its a well known company and that'll look really good on the kits. and since it does have a lot to do with the stadium it'll go hand in hand. but the thing is, it'll be panasonic everywhere we look at the stadium. on the screens, kits, possible random tv's placed throughout it. but i like the idea. -chris
Re: Panasonic Sponsorship? I'm still hoping for Yuengling, but I'd be fine with Panasonic. Just not a bank, that's all I ask.
Re: Panasonic Sponsorship? I asked Nick about this a couple months ago. He said (at the time) Panasonic was only the official electronic provider (or whatever their title is). But it's definitely a possibility.
Re: Panasonic Sponsorship? Panasonic does make sense due to the partnership. But man oh man how cool would it be if Victory Brewing company was the jersey sponsor. Cheer on the Union to victory with a Victory. The marketing opportunities would be endless. Alas Victory probably doesn't have the loot to put up for such a deal. I can dare to dream...
Re: Panasonic Sponsorship? If by this you mean "hard alcohol" then yes -- a company like Jack Daniels cannot appear as the jersey sponsor. But beer company sponsorship on the jerseys is okay.
Re: Panasonic Sponsorship? this same thought was crossing my mind after perusing the new site. from a design perspective i think Panasonic would be sweet. the simpler the logo on the kit, the cleaner the kit will look....
Re: Panasonic Sponsorship? I know the league has beer advertising contracts but I'd be really surprised if a beer company ever ended up as a jersey sponsor.
Re: Panasonic Sponsorship? What about liverpool and carlsberg? I know Europe is'nt the US, but it has been done before. Yuengling or Victory would be great for me. I favored Yuengling, but I'm liking the idea of Victory more now. The only problem would be people in Cali or Tex or Chicago would like what in the world is Victory or Yuengling since it isn't available to them.
Re: Panasonic Sponsorship? Yeah I just think the MADD types would be up in arms with kids' jerseys being sold with beer logos...bad publicity.
Re: Panasonic Sponsorship? I agree and I'm sure Panasonic or Wawa would both be great on the jersey, but Victory wouldn't be as bad as a Bud Light or something of that sort, and plsu it would appeal to a large part of their audience, the irish pub going 20-30 somethings who love soccer.
Re: Panasonic Sponsorship? Oh I'm a giant Victory fan, but it's still beer...and Budweiser is still a league sponsor. Jersey sponsors can't be competitors of league sponsors.
Re: Panasonic Sponsorship? isn't Yuengling the oldest beer in the usa.. given the historic themes of the new team, this "history" would fit well
Re: Panasonic Sponsorship? Panasonic has definitely sponsored teams before: More here: http://www.premiershirts.net/English teams/english teams/huddersfield.htm Definitely a nice unobtrusive sponsor.
Re: Panasonic Sponsorship? Not true. For example, Glidden is a league sponsor (and jersey sponsor for Columbus) but that didn't stop painting competitor Comex from being the jersey sponsor for Chivas USA.
