As I mentioned some months ago, Phil Sharpe, the A.R. in the World Cup final and the USA v. Germany game will be coming to our March Referee's Society meeting scheduled for the 10th. Unfortunately(?) I won't be there, as I will be officiating at the "Big Toes" tournament in Richmond, VA. the week-end prior, but if anyone would like any "questions" put to him about "anything", provided they can reply to me by Tuesday 5pm (GMT) as I depart on Wednesday I will ensure that they are forwarded to him.
I assume the first question will be... "Why didn't you see that German deliberately hand ball on the line"!!!
Any others feel free to submit. Jeff Lancaster.
(P.S. If anyone else is attending that tournament please come and say "hello".).

I'm interested in knowing what he saw on the foul that led to the Germany goal. I didn't see much on tv, but he was right there and he called the foul. The handball isn't a real issue for me because I think it could go either way. I am interested in where he was positioned and how close he thought the ball was to crossing the line. In other words, does he think he had the best possible view, or was his view obstructed in some way.
