Does anybody know for sure if this young man is going to be in the MLS Draft. I heard he is coming back home from his unsuccessful stint in Germany. Also, if he is in the draft, I would imagine him going pretty high. Phil is a defender, and a product of University of Maryland. How does everyone else rate Ian Joy. An American that played a couple years in the English 3rd division. Ian is also a defender, and is even younger than Phil Salyer.
He has not signed with the league, and it seems at this point he will not be by the time the SuperDraft comes about next week. Teams can always draft him, but he's not currently under contract with the league.
Germany? Tex, I thought he had arranged to be released from his contract. Has my memory failed me? Does he want to go back or play here in MLS? Is MLS giving him the Twellman low ball? Give us the low down. Oh and he wasn't called up for the U-23 camp to Portugaul was he? Is he fit and playing.
That's right. If a team picks him they'll have his rights for the next two years so if he ends up signing with MLS in the next two years he would go to that team.
he has not signed as of saturday night, but is reportedly in ft. lauderdale having discussions. 3 others have signed, Nate Jacqua, Shavar Thomas and Ian Joy. Jacqua will be P40 and Thomas will be a transitional international, according to an MLS spokesman. more details on this and updates throughout the Combine when my finally goes live at www.topdrawersoccer.com
