Philipakos suffered a hernia injury in September, just prior to Olympiakos' first match of season (Champions League Matchday 1, away to Deportivo La Coruna).

The injury required surgery and he has since been rehab-ing.

Philipakos' return is fast approaching, though, as tomorrow (Monday, November 29) will be his first full training session with the team since the surgery.

www.yanks-abroad.com will cover his progress leading up to Olympiakos' Champions League Matchday 6 encounter with Liverpool, as Philipakos tries desperately to get fit as quickly as possible and make himself available to manager Dusan Bajevic for this crucial match.

Olympiakos, top of Champions League Group A with 10 points (http://www.uefa.com/Competitions/UCL/Standings/Round=1968/Group=1964.html), need just a draw from the Liverpool match to advance to the knock-out stage of the competition.

Philipakos, 21, an attacking midfielder or striker, plays on the right of midfield for Dusan Bajevic's Olympiakos.
