???? No. No.. and.. did you even follow any of it? MoF roster falls through. Nowak response "It's not my fault. He's no longer on the team, we won't talk about players not on the team." Trades le toux. Asked a question about le toux. Verbally berates reporter. Leaves. Comes back and verbally berates some more. Danny Califf on his b-day goes to the tailgate before to the stadium. He is benched. "He has a knee injury." Fans and reporters see him after and ask, califf responds "I'm fine." He is benched again. Nowak says "he needs a shot" as in pain meds or the sort. Following week Califf plays. Next week he is traded. The captain of the team, traded. And that's only the major points i remember, yet alone his subtle shit throughout.
MOD NOTE: Anything dealing with the Nowak lawsuit should be taken to that specific thread. Thanks. Located here: https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/...and-we-now-know-cause-of-termination.1948776/
Benching Adu was a critical test for Hackworth. We don't know what happened, but consider: Hack was the guy who listened to the players, the foil to Nowak's disciplinarianism. Then he suddenly got the top job. The head coach can't be the players' pal. Nowak went too far, but occasionally every coach has to KAATN. Maybe Freddy thought he could bend the rules a little with the new coach. Whatever happened, it sent a message to the rest of our young team.
Any time you are managing people it's about striking the right balance. Sometimes if someone is out of line, you need to take them down a notch. But it's important that you communicate and be viewed as approachable.
I haven't read every comment in every thread regarding Nowak, but has anyone, anywhere, floated the possibility that Nowak traded Califf and LeToux out of (among other reasons) spite toward Nick S, knowing the writing was on the wall? He seems to be spiteful and his egomania is almost legendary, but given the reach he had in his position with Union and perhaps with getting some heat (the man didn't need much to get antsy) from the boss added to the mix, is it possible that the two best players were traded as a means of getting back at the boss? He did after all give some odd explanations for the trades and he reportedly was seeking jobs elsewhere.
Maybe King Piotr can write a memoir and use the book sales to pay back that loan the team gave him. Would be one hell of a read.
So get this guys: I have been a supporter of soccer all my life and inherited the love of the game from my dad and the first club I learned to love and continue to this day is his hometown club in Poland: WKS Slask Wroclaw (my Bigsoccer namesake). Well guess who is rumored to replace the current coach due to poor performance in the Champions League: Piotr F***ING Nowak This is just unfair. http://www.futbolnews.pl/rozgrywki/...art,1348,nowak-wymieni-lenczyka-w-slasku.html
An update from The Goalkeeper: http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/thegoalkeeper/167344455.html?ref=twitter.com In Summary: Union's Lawyers filed a motion to have this case dismissed as per Nowak's Contract it states all terminations shall be decided through an Arbitrator and not a court of law. This matter should be Settled soon........
O that is so terrible on so many levels. Slask is far too good a club for him. Hopefully he won't do too much damage, or better yet, has learned from his mistakes here. I doubt the latter is possible given his personality and temperament, but for your sake, I am hopeful. And I say that as a fan of Wisla for reasons similar to yours supporting Slask. I get exactly where you are coming from, and I can feel the gut wrenching.
