My God, is this guy in denial: http://chicagosports.chicagotribune...20rose,1,5175033.story?coll=cs-home-headlines Or maybe it has something to do with hitting .264 over 15 years in the minors. If this guy wasn't named Rose, he'd be working construction by now. The amazing thing is that the guy is selling tickets and they're going to build a marketing campaign around him. This tells me more about the people of Joliet, Illinois than anything else.
Pete Rose jr. is the worst baseball player I've ever seen play the game - on any level. Honest to god, I was at a game a couple years ago when he was called up and he made three throwing errors in the fourth inning. It was the only time I've ever in my life seen a guy get yanked from an infield position mid-inning when no other position (i.e. a pitching change, double switch, etc.) was involved. I kept score that day and I cherish that scorecard. HATE.
Then it would have been in September of 1997, the only time he played in the majors. He only played two games at third base (so you got to see one of them) and did make two errors in five chances.
Pretty sure Ted Williams boy is a lot worse than Pete jr. But Petey does sound like he is living in Bizarro world.
You know what? Ted's kid is playing in the same league. Schaumburg. Schaumburg and Joliet are like 35-40 miles apart or something. And I'm right in the middle of them. I doubt John Henry will make the team, but if he does, and they play against each other, I gotta see that one.
