I hope he doen't get burned like Chorri did in Tecos. Rodriguez is young and needs to play in Europe.

The Taco League is a dead end for most players.

I think the Argie Figueroa is the first foreigner to come into Mexico and then go to a European league.

That and their style just isn't compatible for our players. Even Farfan and Solano would struggle there. It just sucks.

It would of been nice for him to go to Sau Paulo, that way Autori will get some brownie points.

That was for Alex Escobar (old LDU's #10), Salas' mentor.
About Palacios: HE IS GREAT!, here we love him!
About Oblitas: HE IS GREAT TOO!

funny how chorri gets trashed in Peru by some media, but when he plays abroad they even send a camera to the locker room to film how he celebrated. (he finally won a championship abroad, he was close a couple of times in Mexico, last year in Colombia he made it to the semi finals, and in Brazil he played with Dida in the intercontinental cup)

Don't forget the cameras where there for Oblitas too.

Congratz to Chorri ... he deserved some positivism out of football.

So what is next for Oblitas? I think he is capable of coaching a top-notch Mexican league team.

Yeah, Ailton played in Tigres and Camoranesi en Cruz Azul.

But still, these players that do make it to europe from mejico are very few, you can even count them on one hand.

well I can only count 3;)

and if you look at the peruvians who went there since 1990 it gets worse

Reynoso and to a lesser extent palacios where the only ones that did anything

    the rest crashed and burned
Jorge Soto, Pepe Soto, Roberto Silva, German Carty, Pocho Dulanto, Sandro Gamarra, Flavio Maestri, Julio Garcia (anyone else?)

mind you peruvian players havnt had a lot of success in brazil either(not that many peruvians have played there)

    I can count 7 since 1990
Olivares, Palacios, Maestri, Soto, Kukin, Ciurlizza, Lobaton woudlnt call any of them succeses....i believe chorri was only bought for the intercontinental final so i guess he cant be clasified as a failure

and before that I can only recall Alberto Gallardo and Ramon Mifflin playing in brazil

seems to me the best option for peruvian players is the argie league, our succes rate is greater

Oh yeah, that De Pinho guy that's at PSV now too.

That's 4 players out of about 400, still not a great rate.

that LDU stadium is the $hit, It has that EPL style but with South American flavor. Cristal can make something like that, since they only have the San Martin to call home.

Well I am sure that we can all agree that the point here is that MOST players don't make it out of the Mexi League. For many it is the final stop of their careers. They have broken more dreams, then they have made happen. They have ruined more talent, then they have created.

    for sure

the best way to europe for peruvian players, is either to go straight there or go from the argentinian league
