And the best part is that the Peruvian referee association posts publicly to back them up. Not much the ref could do, all the reds were thoroughly deserved (bad tackle, elbow, rash challenge, grabbing ref in attempt to stop issuing red card) and manager for running into the scrum. http://www.theguardian.com/football...-alianza-lima-real-garcilaso?CMP=share_btn_tw
First one (the swinging elbow) was a 2CT. Could have easily been a straight red. Can't argue with it. Second one (the kick from behind) was also a 2CT. Could also have easily been a straight red. Can't argue with that one either. Third one (grabbing/pushing the referee and trying to stop him from showing a card) was the easiest send-off of the lot. Didn't see the fourth one or the manager's removal in the youtube video. By the way, the comments on that YouTube video are almost unanimously in support of the referee. Well done, Internet. EDIT: This video has the 4th send off, which was earlier in the match. Clear punch in the face. I don't care that he missed the player's chin by a centimeter or so, it's still VC.
despicable. looks like a pirate league out there. good on ref for keeping cool. good on ref for sending off the last two idiots.
Don't forget to the give credit to the A - ARRRRRR. Without him, the ref would have been ship out of luck.
lol had to watch the vid again to catch what you were talking about. never would have got that. the ar was good in signaling the fouls, but it looked to me like the yellows were all ref. i actually dont think the ref was going to card for the hand/arm to the face. after the player threw the ball at him then he pulled his card.
I think the two CT's were going to happen anyway, but it looks like the AR did signal for cautions on both of them too.
I saw the same. Looked like he put his hand on his badge both times. Of course, the AR is only briefly in view both times, but it looked like a badge tap to me. It is very likely, however, that the referee was going yellow anyway on both fouls.
I'm glad I don't have to referee in Peru. http://www.comeonengland.org/2015/05/20/goalkeeper-gets-booked-then-floors-referee-with-th/
