    LOL. Are you telling me that people are not impressed by this. If this is one of his bad games then the so called critics should get a grasp on reality and stop imagining the reincarnation of Maradona.

    You can't even begin to fathom the ridiculous footwork involved in his game, it is close to fantasy. Mystical ball control. At least the other teams realise the importance of Messi, they had 2-3 players constantly tracking him. And he almost scored on 3 occasions ( the keeper blocked one) so he is actually creating danger in the penalty area.

    Do you actually expect the most gifted player of this generation to pass the ball back just for the sake of being more of a "team" player ? What a waste of talent. He shouldn't limit himself, yes there is always room for improvement and that will come as he matures...

    I hate to say it but I saw this coming. Back when Messi was busting out and really being recognized for the talent he is, many people (some in the Argentina forums but more in the Beautiful Game and Players/Legends forums) hyped him as the "next Maradona". How many times have we heard that line applied to a young player only for him to not live up to those expectations?

    I for one considered Leo to be overrated because of the hype that has been around him and personally felt that by lowering the expectations I in turn wouldn't be disappointed if he hit a wall and struggled a bit. Don't get me wrong, I really do think he is the most talented young player in the world but like the rest of you guys do see him as a pibe that still has plenty of growing to do. The truth is the media and many fans look for any excuse to knock a player off his high horse and discredit him. Am I surprised? Not at all in fact expected it. Let's not lose perspective on what an incredible talent he is and keep on doing what we're doing and support him with out putting him on too high of a pedestal.

    i have to agree and i think what is happeend to brazil is what is happening right now to argentina...after pele retire i believe brazill didnt win a world cup in 24 years(1974-1990)...everyone was looking for the next pele, whos the next pele...after they relized that ther is only one pele they won as a team....in argentina after maradona, everyone was asking who is the next maradona...tevez uin the next maradona, riquelme in the next maradone, messi is the next maradona..well if we could get thaty out of our way we are due for our next world cup, i believe our last was looky here 24 years agoin 86...we need to worry about our team as a whole not the individuals.

    Very well put and very true, also if I recall only 2 years ago people were criticising Messi for not being selfish enough and not going for the goal himself:rolleyes:, imagine eh???

    We could have won the peru match has Battaglia kicked vargas on his
    run , one good kick could have fetch has three points rather then one point
    this much sense should be there when u play this type of matches:mad:
