I am ok with this. It fits the guys we have on the team better. Gotta give it a couple games to get rid of the mental mess they had this year
100% agree. What I want: ------------------------Adams ----------------Rossi---------Arfsten Brown--Chambost--Bangoura--Herrera ------Zawadzki---Camacho---Moreira -----------------------Schulte Of course, Picard probably starts over Brown. I really don't want Picard in the front three. He seems at his best when he's really wide, and gets lost the closer to the middle of the field he gets. I could see Rossi up top instead of Adams, maybe then Chambost moves up so Gomes can start. Laurent does like to press though, Gomes doesn't fit that mold. I don't like starting Camacho, but he's better insulated in a back three than a back four. Priority number one for Bez is to get rid of Gazda, and then a very close number two is sign a CB that can anchor the defense.
Adams is limited to six first team MLS game appearances unless he’s moved up into a regular supplemental slot. I think he’s played in one game so far, so five left.
It is 6 league appearances on a gameday roster. The rule isnt written clearly on mlssoccer.com Assuming Herrara and Cheba leave, you have 2 openings there. Mrowka can be waived too. He hasnt even been training
Here's the rule: I see the word "appear" as being key, here. Adams can sit on the bench and not play as many times as the Crew wants. But he can appear in up to six games.
Ah, you are correct, see the bluesky post. That is how I read it originally. Some beat reporters said appearing on the gameday roster counted. And this is how the discordecke was treating it too. I went to cite my sources in soccerwise and found this correction from St. Louis beat. So you are correct. https://bsky.app/profile/mattbakerstl.bsky.social/post/3lu4353fa322z One of those original tweet was taken as gospel and no one saw the correction.
So, the Courtois era begins with a US Open Cup quarterfinal home match vs NYCFC. I currently can't find a way to purchase tickets and I don't think I've gotten anything from the team offering them for sale. I was not planning to attend before the coaching change, but now have a bit of an interest.
Would be a crap hire. We've never had a successful bald coach. Hell, we've haven't even won a single game with the current baldy steering the ship.
Here for it if Laurent can once again prove that happy workers are more productive workers. Edited to add: I really admire how simple that first statement is. We can't control how bad the team Issa put together is, but we can at least try to enjoy playing soccer while we wait for Tim B.
1) play attractive and winning soccer 2) develop players 3) profit Awesome. Did HR ever have a message that simple?
It's hard not to root for Courtois. I doubt he's ready for the head coaching job full-time, but he's an ideal interim who I have to think the players all know and respect. We also know he basically ran half of pre-season camp, since HR wasn't here yet. He's put in his time, managing in MLSNP, gutting it out in Montreal with MLS's cheapest owner. Now stepping into the interim role here. He deserves a shot as much as anyone. I also hope he shoulders no blame if he struggles with results. He didn't create this mess. He's just trying to help clean it up. If he doesn't end up being the head guy here in the long run, I'm sure he'll be back in a top job somewhere in MLS within the next couple of years.
Rydstrom tried 3421 to start and we looked horrid defensively. Best of bad options: ---------------------Schulte-------------- ----Moreira---Camacho---Zawadzki--- Farsi----Bangoura----Chambost----Picard -------Arfsten-----Adams------Rossi------- Could easily swith Max & Picard. Starting Adams over Gazdag as this is Cup and Gazdag is not long for the roster if I'm in charge. We need 2 CF signings. A CM. And a CB. Probably a WB as well. Two or more if Max/Herrera/Mo leave in summer. First order of business has to be clearing the dead weight. Gazdag & Mrowka for sure. Probably Cheberko & Herrera given the price tags. Gomes, Thiare, & Akhundzada all seem poor, but is probably too early to cut bait. Picard is showing signs of life at least.
Yes, it was a shootout, but at least the offense was creating chances those first couple weeks. As far as I'm concerned, the team was worse when they focused on defending. I'd rather just go (as smart as possible) all gas no brakes.
Y'all are ********ing boring and just want the same old same old despite the fact that Nancy was on the decline by the end. I hope you get all the boringness that you deserve.
