Oh Yeah!! <Happy Dance!!> This is tremendous news!! And so much for the nay-sayer, head-in-the-sand, negative-nellies!! Ha Ha!! We are going to build a stadium!!! Woo Hoo!!! I'm so psyched, I can hardly sit still, or type. Makes my day!! EARTH!! - Mark
Any word on whether The Epicenter's total construction budget has been raised considerably to a reasonable level, whether its seats-count has been raised to at least 18k and whether traditional suites may likely be included after all? GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
You can go to the city website. I have been perusing the site every 3-4 weeks looking for any new permits and didn't see any the last time. Great find Ned!
Can anybody out there estimate when we could break ground based on the Jan 20 filing date and "under review status"
Hell yeah ! Now is this so hard for the FO to lets us know ? Ned Thanks for posting this, tecnically I'm starting February with only good news !...and I love it !
They are afraid loose lips will sink ships. Like the Quakes and their fans have never already been sunk many times before....
The site said "Development Permit" and subtype "PD permit". I don't know what that means or if it is only one of some unknown number of needed "permits" or "developments". Maybe someone with experience in these matters can better tell if this is a permanent big step or a temporary mini-step. When I looked at the permit history for the Nutrilite site I saw a LOT of permits for a variety of extremely small little items. Of course either way it is better than the alternative of not having any permits. ;^)
Hurrah!! Kudos to the FO if this means we'll see some construction soon.. or maybe some updated designs?? Typically there are many permits. I work for a global planning/consulting/engineering company and work on new developments every now and then. I'm not involved much in the actual permitting process, but there are indeed multiple permits needed, depending on the site and what's being built. For example, if the site was found to have sensitive/protected species or wetlands then they would have to get a permit for those impacts, or if there were historic buildings, or archaeological resources.. for that location I don't think there's much along those lines as it was previously developed. Some permits specific to the City of SJ. But I believe most, if not all of that was addressed in the EIR. I could be wrong. New permits will involve the actual construction and operations. ...but certainly the details should come from the FO soon. Unless they're waiting until March or something to get everyone hyped at the beginning of the season and create media buzz in the Bay Area.
I'm not allowing myself to get excited until I see shovels in the ground. I've been burned too many times thinking "this is it, done deal!" only to have it not happen - yet.

Next for them is to get the various other permits approved. Next for us is to continue praying that this actually happens after all. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
They don't have the permit, it is under review. When they get it they will have a certain amount of time to act upon it or it will expire.
