Tomorrow Troy Perkins and Valerenga take on Staebek in the 2008 Norwegian Cup Final. This is the second year in a row a yank has figured into the cup final, when Cam Weaver's Haugesund were beaten by first-division...I forget who. Anyway, go Troy!
Lillestrom 1-0 Valerenga at the half over heavily favored Stabaek. Perkins has looked very good so far, but Stabaek hasn't had any great chances. After the first 15 mins or so, Valerenga has played about as well as I've seen them play this year.
4-1 is the final. This was easily the best game Valerenga has played this year. Troy had a very good second half, but the star was Mohammed Abdellaoue with 2 goals and an assist. Troy was subbed out in the 90th minute as a thank you gesture I assume.
Haha, that's another favorite of theirs. I am consistently amazed at how often people go outside in terrible weather here.
Evryone that plays in the final get to be champions so it is common to sub players in at the end if you leading big so that they can get the medals to. So probably a favor to the reserve goalie.
