Lol. Xavi won a la Liga + cup double in the first first year. Carlo won a CL his first year at the club, twice. What are we even arguing about if any rando can come in and everything will fix itself, or, at least until and long enough for certain people to realize it's a mistake and come up with a convincing argument for blaming next seasons results on the manager, racism, Gen Z, the Superleague, Mbappe, etc.
What Flick did for Barca this season was beyond all expectations tbh. The question is how long can he sustain it
Barcelona are not going to play the CWC which could be a big advantage for them in preparation and resting for next season
When Valverde did that year in year out there the club looked at him like he smells bad. We both know they want the CL, financially most of all.
We opened as odd favorites for the title at an absurd -600 and by the time Carvajal and Militao went down we were at +350 which widened to +600 as the season went on. A lot of Barca's season went in firm lockstep with how bad we have been. Their European campaign showed a lot more flaws than the domestic campaign did. Atletico were arguably the most disappointing big team in Spain, investing heavily in the attack, and being left with awful numbers despite that.
They'll strengthen the squad as well. I think they had a career season from Raphina, can't rely on that. Yamal being with Jorge Mendes doesn't serve well for his long term potential at Barca though. I'm very aware of what's going on there, Mendes came out yesterday saying Yamal should win the Balon d'Or no doubt etc. I can see this relationship being troublesome over the next few years.
Sad ending to otherwise stellar spell at Madrid. Knowing when to leave a job is a skill not many possess.
We need to give Carlo the utmost respect in his send off. Despite everything, his legacy as Madrid manager is spectacular. He deserves a statue for real.
He sure does. Won a lot for the club. and a one way ticket to Brazil... I don't ever want to see him in a manager role in Real Madrid.
You understand that there's a chance that not just the next coach, but the next 3 could fail, right? Practically everybody than Carlo and Zidane has failed spectacularly. There's a higher chance to fail than to succeed at this job.
While both men are two of the finest managers Madrid ever had, The club won European Cups and Champions Leagues before Carlo and Zidane and will probably win some after them.
Everyone could be that. I believe Klopp's odds of being a success are bigger than those of Xabi but it is what it is.
what are advocating for? Seriously, I have no idea what solutions you are thinking. Your whole purpose it seems is to find the contrary point and beat it to death. No shit any manager who takes over may have bad results. We just suffered through 2 seasons of Carlo with no results. I don’t get your point.
🚨🇧🇷 Carlo Ancelotti will be new Brazil head coach, plan confirmed and agreement done. The staff has been decided, documents signed and exit process from Real Madrid will follow with special farewell.Ancelotti will start working for Brazil from the end of May.Here we go! 🤝🏻 pic.twitter.com/IibmP3bzyX— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) May 12, 2025
I'm pointing out that failing at this job is more likely than succeeding. People that jumped on the bandwagon late don't remember how terrifyingly bad this has been for years. "I never want to see Ancelotti as coach ever again" can not come from somebody that remembers Lopez Caro, a man that admitted that he would pray for results.
but we’re not getting a coach who’s going to pray. We’re getting arguably one of the best young managers in the game, who is a former player and understudy to some of the best managers who he played for. We’ve been fortunate that we’ve won as much as we have and likely are not to repeat it for the upcoming decade. It seems like you think we should keep Carlo, and refresh the squad. Most here disagree with that notion.
