If we didn't get lucky with Zizou, what would be this club's legacy post 2015 Ancelotti? Benitez, Lopetegui and Solari?

There's always some naive hope when we look to a new coach, or when we look to a player that hasn't been playing. It's easy to get tricked thinking just because someone is new they can't be worse.

Don't get me wrong. I am fully aware you have to take risks/gambles sometimes. After all Zizou worked out for us like a charm. But I genuinely wonder, which currently available manager do people consider to be a better fit for this team?

Löw? Terzic? Allegri? We know Klopp would never join us even if he wasn't on a sabbatical. Not only due to our history in the CL but also because he needs to feel like an underdog, and a club as big as ours ain't giving him that feeling. Who else is there? I highly doubt Zizou is a realistic option right now. I think his eyes are firmly set on that France NT job, and he wants to be free when the opportunity arrives.

There are coaches out there like Conceicao, Kovac, Sarri... But I don't ever see us going for one of them.

We’ve literally have had no success in the past 20 plus years with anyone other than ZZ and Carlo, and the success we had with those two is historic success

conclusion, anyone but Carlo is better

    I’d rather sign Hazard back.

I hope it's sitting deeper in a 433 with Camavinga partnering Fede.

We don't have the ability to maintain constant possession when we don't have people who can consistently run.

    Just sit and counter

Carlo could get knocked out of the CL in the group stage and fail to finish top 4 in La Liga and it wouldn’t come even close to tarnishing his legacy for me, or even my view of his managerial chops.

But he has to do better.

I am honestly not that worried. Honestly our most disappointing seasons for me have come after fast starts, everything humming, and then a March-April collapse. I’m glad this is a shitshow so early that the team hass some time to turn it around.

Calma. Carlo is gonna figure this out.

Essentially, he doesn't think Endrick or Güler can contribute to improving our "situation"

I take this means Arda and Endrick won't see the pitch for the rest of this season.
Watch them request to go on loan in January.
And I'm tired of some of the excuses I hear, we should let go of him next summer.

Were you concerned about Guler's playing time in May-June when you celebrated our club winning La Liga and CL? Victories cure everything, and right now Carlo should sort out the issues with the current starting squad.

We knew Endrick would join us mostly for the experience and the routine of being a player for this club on a day to day basis. He's shown good signs but also a lot of hints that he's completely out of his depth. He's a bonus, not a piece we rely on.

Not when our entire front line is severely underperforming and one of our top scorers of last season is not hitting the target and/or playing too deep or supporting Vasquez.

Rely on him now? No. But he should get minutes so we can rely on him in the future. Same goes for Arda Güler. They have both showed hints of their quality.

From Carlo's interview with France Football after he won the coach of the year award (surprised he spoke to them cosnidering the club's stance):

"I don't do speeches before matches, I usually explain the strategy of the match 2 hours before kick-off. After that I almost don't speak. My assistants do that, but I don't speak. I would have explained everything two hours before, so there is no need to repeat."

Carlo is just too old to be rambling on for 2 hours in the locker room. He needs his peace and quiet.

I wouldnt be surprised if he took power naps before matches in a comfy chair.

Zidane did the same, I remember players saying sometimes Zidane doesn't say anything at the halftime break, just let's players cool down.

I don't mind it tbh, especially not when a coach is around for so many years. You know what he's going to say anyway. :ROFLMAO:
