I hope Carlo is going to add a bit more automatisms to our game.....not Pep level robotic stuff ....but some schemes....

Mbappe + Vini = even more parking of bus by teams.

We'll need to do a lot of "breaking down" of defenses....

I think our attack will be a headache to figure out. Nobody of our three attackers will be playing their position only, inside of 1 minute you'll see all three play across the whole width of the pitch in attack, with players like Valverde and Bellingham coming behind them. There's going to be so much threat packed in there that there's no way defences don't start making mistakes left and right. The trick will be organizing the midfield/defence on a quick break/counter.

A headache for opponents is right lol. When you 2/3 players who can easily beat players 1v1....it is indeed a nightmare for defenders.

I'm bringing it up because it will be virtually impossible to play high against us.....the counterattacking threat is now at an all time high.....they'll have to bunker down.....Don't underestimate coaches' ability to set up crazy defensive schemes lol...

Well that's a good thing that Mbappe and Bellingham can score headers. We need header goals and long distance shots.

Since when is Mbappe good at headers? He's probably the worst header out of the whole front three. He has 3 header goals in his whole QSG career. Vini has more and Rodrygo nearly had as many in one game. We only have Jude who is great at headers. Vini has started challenging for them but isn't any good yet. Rodrygo is alright, he can win headers in the box but rarely directs headers at goal.

Just checked it and you're right. And not so many goals with the weak foot either. Odd.

I bet 90% of the opponents will be playing a low to mid block. It would be virtual suicide if any team tries to play a high line.

That being said, I’m curious to see how the team’s transition defense will be. Because counters is what most opponents are banking on to get results.

So Carlo sees Guler's future in midfield. Guler earlier said club convinced him to join with a project that he could be Modric's successor.

    Great news lol.

Someone should tell him it’s within the laws to use subs before minute 85.

Ooh I will enjoy this. Its not easy to get a grasp of Carlo's mind so a one hour interview should help.

    To paraphrase:

“I don’t see you as a journalist. I see you as a man whose job is journalism. Same with the players, I don’t see them as football players but as men who also play football professionally”.

This is a very small difference in the lens through which you see the world, but it’s a profound difference actually.

He seems to be a fantastic guy and a strong opposite to how people see others and treat them this day in age.

It’s a great interview, I liked that they touched on this idea of him tactically not being a Guardiola type and not having a “philosophy”. So many just buy into that one idea it’s nice to hear a totally different take.

He sees players as individual human beings, rather than tools as a cog in a machinery.

Very few successful managers have this mentality, moreso in the corporate space.

It's interesting that the bayern players didn't appreciate that at all. They were practically making fun of him.

What a weird situation that was. We never heard about it from him, most likely cause the players are still active and he still has friends at the club.

Maybe because of the makeup of that locker room? Can’t remember his name, but a former Bayern player said that everyone there was selfish. And he missed his previous’ club where people gave a d*mn.

Also probably that he struggled with the language.

Carlo had Giovanni Mouri has fitness coach since Parma days. He's even older than Carlo. Bayern players looked down on his coaching methods after intense training under Heynckes and Pep. Mouri retired after Carlo was sacked by Bayern. Mouri's son continues in Carlo's coaching staff at RM.

Our players loved Carlo during 2013-15 unlike some Bayern players who trained "extra" at home complaining Carlo's training methods were lax.

Florentino was also in love with task master coach after Mou experience. There were reports that he was unhappy with Mauri and offered Carlo to stay on if he changed him in 2015. Carlo refused and got sacked. "Task master" Benitez replaced him.

Florentino loves Pintus as well. Doubt he cared about training staff etc before the Pintus experience. There's a video of Flo joking to Pintus about working players ass off after CL win during ZZ days. Bet Flo was heartbroken when ZZ wanted Pintus gone due to personal reasons in 2019.

Got Pintus back as soon as ZZ left in 2021. Pintus had further enhanced his reputation by winning Serie A with Conte after leaving RM.

    Your summer vacation?

Ancelotti: I completely stayed away from everything, but I watched all the Euro and Copa America matches. Football is my passion and it's fun. I've completely managed to get away from it all. I spent 40 days on vacation. It was amazing. I've been to beautiful places and watched football, which I enjoy. It's what I enjoy most.

    Super Cup match against Atalanta?

Ancelotti: It will be difficult as always because it is the beginning of the season. But we will go there with confidence and conviction, keeping all the challenges in mind. I think Atalanta deserves to be there because they had a great campaign in the Europa League, knocking out big teams like Liverpool.

Ancelotti: We respect Atalanta a lot, but we hope to be at our best.

Ancelotti: I don't think anyone expected Atalanta to defeat Leverkusen easily. Atalanta had a great season. It is a very dangerous team that plays in a special and unique way. Bayer Leverkusen was unable to play the way they were accustomed to, due to the tremendous effort made by the Atalanta players.

    Gasperini?

Ancelotti: We have a great relationship and we are friends. Our relationship started in Juventus.

Ancelotti: Atalanta is constantly playing in Europe thanks to Gasperini, and since his arrival, the team has performed very well in Italy as well. Some excellent and important players have emerged from the team. So he's done an amazing job and continues to do so.

Well then I guess the jokes on them.

Imagine manager arriving who has already won as many CL in his life as your club has in its entire history and your response is we can't take this guy serious.

I doubt it was selfish or egotistical locker room personalities that did him in. Carlo walked into Mou's Civil War era Madrid and united the squad in perfect harmony.

More likely scenario is that a bunch of Germany's couldn't handle the pressure being given the freedom to express themselves on the pitch, which has become the Carlo calling card; and instead needed someone to hold their hand, walk them through various situations that would likely unfold during the course of a match or season and give them a authoritarian playbook to follow without having to think for thenselves.

And people don't think Zidane has issues when it comes to maintaining relations and generally just being a bit more amicable, friendly and understanding.

And then of course Flo who we are constantly reminded doesn't stay informed or get bogged down in these types of decisions until too late and mistakes are made.
