Wait until he sees the state of this squad, especially the attack, and compares it to what he had 7 years ago...

Carlo Ancelotti official statement/farewell: “While I have enjoyed being at Everton I have been presented with an unexpected opportunity which I believe is the right move for me and my family at this time. I’m joining Real Madrid”. 🔵📑 #EFC #Real #Ancelotti— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) June 1, 2021 Brief farewell statement
Our team with Carlo looked better than it did with Zidane and I'm a huge Zidane fan. I remember how when the rumors of him being fired started how all the players (cristiano included) posted on social media how they hoped they would work with him next season. Only for Flo to sack him. That being said this is a different team. I hope he is allowed to work with young players and at the same time the veterans that deserve it to get their playing time as well. I'd rather have him than the other candidates considering Raul is doing a great job and I don't think the timing is correct for him right now.
Carlo Ancelotti has won the Premier League, Ligue 1, Bundesliga and Serie A titles. Unfinished business in La Liga...— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) June 1, 2021
Ancelotti is my favorite manager even though we won all those trophies with Zidane (please dont send hate). I really hope we give him a better squad than we currently have.
Welcome back Don Carlito. Not to be a Debby downer but as I said on the other thread I’m not going to get excited about this unless we get some good reinforcements, with the squad as it is Carlo is being set up to fail. we still have a long way to go in the summer so hopefully we reinforce the team adequately, if that happens then I can see Carlo winning some big stuff. Looking forward to some non dull football though.
I like Ancelotti and felt he was scapegoated his first tenure. I feel for Ancleotti if Florentino refuses to spend. It will be another good manager trashed for "inadequacy" and not being perfect when simply getting supported would go a long way. Anyways, let's hope that Zidane letter sent some shockwaves into the old man and he gets us some good reinforcements so Ancelotti doesn't come into this situation with his hands tied behind his back.
Not at all surprised by this, it was a safe choice but I do hope the exit of Zidane causes the board to be a bit self critical here.
Good job @MiamiNative0722 on beating @youngstars87. Still shit thread title though. Anyway, welcome back Don Carlo.
He’s got to know that going in though, right? Hope he’s not setting himself up to fail here. Maybe he thinks he can get the best out of guys like Jovic and Odegaard. Again, our DM was our second leading scorer and we nearly won la liga. For his part Flo will have an argument here that he made the best available hire. That even though I’m convinced Carlo was probably 2nd or even 3rd choice. It won’t matter if there are no reinforcements though.
Better than a lot of the other options but I'm going to be very cautious in my expectations of his second tenure. The squad composition still needs to be addressed and we presently have a much worse squad than the last time he was here. I wish him the best.
what a horrible situation to come to. we've seen what he can do with our former squad. this one, im not sure its much stronger than what he had in everton.
I'll miss Zidane. But I actually like Carlo Ancelotti so I'm happy with this hire. Idk if you guys remember but I was quite vocal about my dismay when he was fired. He was well liked by the players and he's a total gentleman. I look forward to his second tenure. He has his work cut out, no doubt about it. Please DO NOT bring back James. Thanks.
Honestly, nothing surprises me anymore with this team and the decisions that are being made. But, I'm glad we got Alaba, and I'm super excited to see him under Ancelotti next year. I just don't expect much more activity in the market, although I would like to be pleasantly surprised.
Sounds like he couldn't wait to get out of England even if he's taking way less money. Not surprised though because he wouldn't win a thing with that club given the spending power of the top 4.
I think people are reading way too much into this hire when it comes to signings and player selections next season. Ancelotti is a different manager now than the one we had back then. Just because he took James to Everton doesn’t mean he’s going to bring him back to Madrid. Just because he played the old guard when they were at their peaks doesn’t mean he’s going to keep using them going forward or that we won’t sign any more superstars.
