I'm looking forward to the day when we actually are looking to bring someone exciting IN.

for the last three years it seems like all of the rumors related to the Fire are about dumping salary or plugging holes from injuries.

Wouldn't it be nice to finally read that the Fire are chasing some undisclosed midfielder playing in a top european league, or some young hot shot south american looking for a little first team action.

This goes along with some things I've heard that we *might* be looking at Ritchie Kotschau. But, again, who knows. Probably be best if we just keep Orlando, or use his space to sign more of the well-performing trialists cheap.

Oh, please, let this be true. There is no one more expendible than Perez. The sooner he and his floppy hair and goofy headband leaves the better.

Perez is Evan Whitfield (that's not a compliment), without the engaging personality of Evan, who's a really nice guy, by the way.

What the heck is wrong with Evan?

For that matter, what the heck is wrong with orlando?

The answers to those questions are easy. Nothing.
The intriguing question is what the heck is wrong with xtomx?

This is obviously the evil twin to xmotx, who is a really good guy.

There is nothing wrong with either Perez or Evan (or with me, for that matter).

I was just saying that Perez is expendable. He filled in last year, when we had so many injuries, but he is not going to play much this year. We could use the cap room to bring in someone who is more useful. He's not going to break into the starting line-up and, with Evan healthy, Perez is not going to see much time as a substitute.

As for Evan, when he plays wide in midfield, he spends an incredible amount of time out of bounds, for no apparent reason. He is a decent stand-in defender, but he is frustrating to watch as a midfielder.

I fully expect Evan Whitfield to be our everyday starting right back this season.

Perez might have a shot on the wing in MF, but I'd actually like to put Jesse back out there with Armas back.

Perez left side. Evan right side.

    What else were you saying?

Re: Re: Perez to New York

I personally am hoping to see Boca on the left side, if Brown and Curtin can hold down the middle. That would leave Lando on the bench. But I think he is a good, flexible guy to have around. If Whit, Curtin or CJ go down you can push everybody to the right and slip Lando in at Left back. He could theoretically play some left mid as well, depending on what they do with DMB and how Mapp works out. But my thought is Perez is a good guy to keep around for now. I don't think he is so high on the salary list that his salary would be that useful. (don't really know though)

  13. I see Perez as a decent left mid in a 3-5-2 because of his skill on the ball. Maybe Bail Out Bob sees it that way too. I do not want to see him as our starting left fullback in a 4-4-2. Either way, Evan is a much better defender and, if healthy, is in my first XI at right mid, or right fullback. Perez definitely is expendable.

    perez has use.

but he can be traded too and it won't ruin the team.

He's cheap, and can play either position on the left side in a pinch. A starter, no.

However, if Mapp is the first one in as a left sided mid, then Perez just lost half his job.

Now, what if we sign Andy Williams and package the two of them to Metro?

Mapp and Perez? or Williams and Perez?

If it's Mapp, you're nuts since he's a roster-protected P40 player if nothing else. If it's williams you're nuts because Metro just cut his sorry ass.

It was a long day. I meant AW and OP and I realized the folly too late.

    Where's that free beer again?
