I didn't watch but was he playing RW instead of forward?

Pepi worked hard, it’s a shame he wasn’t rewarded. I thought he would get that ball on the give and go before the third goal. Ausburg were fortunate that Pedersen had a good strike but that’s a clear open look by Pepi if the pass is made. There were a few instances like that and I know I have my “yank googles” on but that midfield lacks the ability to make that forward pass when needed.

Right side of front three but his runs were more central. Up against Brooks who was left side of back three until they went to back four late in match.

Pepi subs on in the 75th. Of course, they were already down 3-0, and it just went to 4-0.

Pepi has subbed on for Augsburg in the 68th minute. 1-1.

Mainz score a last minute gamewinner off a corner kick - technically, an illegal corner kick because the ball was never still...

    What a heartbreak.
Augsburg loses the game in the last minute of extra time.

Full time. I didn't really see Pepi do much but contain defense.

22 minutes, 1/3 passing, 0/4 on aerial duels, 1 successful tackle.

Pepi was the only player anywhere near the goal scorer. After the ball went in a teammate seemed to gesture at Pepi with recriminations.

He looks lost and/or over his head.

All of Augsburg did on that goal. Quick corner that no one was paying attention to, no player on either post, 3 players let the goalscorer run in front of them completely unchecked. If that header hadn't gone directly in, there was another Mainz player ready and waiting to either re-direct or tap home a rebound.

The mad teammate seems to be yelling at anyone and everyone.

Yikes. Checking in on this thread is quickly surpassing Josh Sargent levels of depressing.

Good early start from Pepi. Forcing TO's and outletting. But his teammates look so putzy to have something materialize from that.

Pepi looking a bit tentative and heavy-footed for me so far.
    But it's early.

Experiencing some diminishing returns now. Needs to get stronger (as I said that, just had a nice post up) and better in the air.

0-1 in favor of Hoffenheim now. Pepi not involved. Bad effort at a challenge by a teammate in midfield, then the opponents run circles around them.

FCA totally offensively impotent but are somehow maintaining possession and Hoffenheim seem to be on a dangerous break/counter constantly.

They finally score on one of them 1-0 Hoffenheim.
