Yes saw that on the BBC site. Harsh but fair. Seems like the lesson of the Euros final and penalties has not been learnt
Sad to hear... and of a former blue as well Edit: That's the 'proper' blue. Not the inferior northern sort.
Norwich lose again, awful side right now. I've not watched much but this cant be great for gilmour. Anyone been seeing how he has been faring in that team. 3-0 loss at home to liverpool's reserves.
Eh not great but still better than only playing a small handful of games. He’s learning the rigor of a long season and a relegation battle. Will make him better for it. Haven’t watched a lot of them tho I’m gonna start more now that Sargent is there.
Wonder what he’d be doing at Crystal Palace. Gilmour was certainly ahead of Gallagher in the pecking order, but hanging in longer got him a crap loan.
Gallagher was top of mind when looking at Billy. He has really taken the bull by the horns and impressing in a team many of us throught would struggle. Not that Palace are world beaters but he is in the middle of a lot of the good stuff they manage. I'm glad that billy is getting minutes and he should remain in the Scotland line up, I just hope he can rise above what looks to be a pretty ropey squad. I'm sure he will.
Being mired in the relegation fight last year certainly seemed to be a good learning experience for Connor. Hoping Billy makes the most of it too
Yeah, I'm of the belief that the minutes trump the bad side. Norwich, while bad, still play a decent brand of football, which is why they're bad in this league. Billy has been pretty good, but it's one of those scenarios, when they're really bad, it's hard to pick anyone out. Gallagher on the other hand, plays for a better team, plays a different position to Billy and has the benefit of having already played for a Prem team last season. I think both are going to be really good players for us as well. Conor just has the benefits of having been on quality loans for 3 seasons now. His first loan in the Championship at Swansea was hugely beneficial for his development and then getting a season with Big Sam at West Brom last season showed him what this league is about. For me, today, Conor's arch is a little higher because of those experiences.
I think that there is an intention to make Gilmour a better defensive player than he currently is. It’s noticeable how deep he’s been played for Norwich and even hanging back when they are on the attack. This isn’t great for them but I think it may bring benefits for us in the long-term.
He seems to be handling it quite well so far. When we look at the league cup match from mid week where he was played in a more creative role, he was once again excellent. I really think this could be the making of him as a leader.
I looked at today’s fixtures in the Premier League, I thought there could be some drawers here. Put money on Manchester United, Newcastle, West Ham, and Leicester. Fair to say Antonio and Fernandes are on my naughty list.
Glad we played Arsenal once already. They're actually getting into a groove and have most players back with a deeper bench. Spurs lol
PSG V Citeh. A diving contest between Grealish and Neymar. The ref clearly supports Neymar. Grealish has a reputation for diving and he's got nothing from this ref. Hakimi looking good.
You'd think at some point Grealish would realise he's not going to get them, wouldn't yer. But the ref was a real homer as well tbf.
Great result, time for one of those "your team took one hell of a beating" speaches featuring famous Spaniards
This is a really long winded way of saying they can't afford to sack him because of their massive financial incompetence. https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2021/10/2/22705572/joan-laporta-ronald-koeman-staying-barcelona
