I hope it's worth it. Just cant seem to find someone to buy that extra ticket off me. Since it's pretty much non-refundable, I may just give it away for free. You should prolly leave ur contact details in a PM
Hey all!!! Well obviously I'm on this thread cause I'm going solo now!!! I've traveled solo before, just not for a full month. But 2 friends backed out on me, and now I've got 2 sets of Category 2, TST-5 tix with Paraguay. So if anyone is inerested, let me know. But start my travels by arriving in Cape Town on 6/12, Mangaung/Bloemfontein on 6/20, Polokwane on 6/24. If anyone is on somewhat of a similar schedule, or there's some overlap, let's catch a beer and talk some football! Cheers, Tony
If Argentina don't end up 2nd in their group I will probably stay in the Polokwane area after Argentina-Greece. Might go to Haenertsburg for a couple of nights and be back for Paraguay-NZ. We could share a few beers and I could buy your ticket if you haven't sold it by then.
I am from California and will be travelling Solo to the World Cup. I arrive in Johannesburg on June 13th and will be there for 10 days and move on over to Durban for 4 days. I am attending 10 games altogether. If anyone is interested in meeting up in either of these two cities so that we can enjoy the festivities please do respond.
Hey anyone following the Japanese team? (or their opponents in Group E?) will be going alone and will be in bloemfontein 14th and around, Durban 19th and around, Rustenberg 24th and around and either durban or pretoria later.
Forgot to mention, Im travelling by motorcycle, are there any of you here who are doing the same? Will be leaving from Cape Town on the 13th of June to Bloem and then to the rest of my games. If you going by motorcycle to one of those cities around those dates contact me!
Cool! Have contacts with the Ulysses club in Pretoria if you are interested - dunno how young/old you are. *standing ovation - never mind applause*
I would be interested in a group ride to a game ( would hire a BMW for a day ) if there are several people doing this as well.
Just signed on to this board, looks great. I'm going solo for this trip. Looking forward to meeting fellow fans along the way. Jo'burg 11-15th Durban 15-20th Polokwane 21-23rd Jo'burg 23-28th.

Hi, Im Gerardo from Mexico, r u asking for someone to share room at your accommodation or only for someone to watch the matches and those things? im looking for a place, dont you have any information about it? thanks, c ya.
Anyone interested in going on a safari in Rustenberg to Pilanesberg? One would need a car (I dont have one) but it is cheap and close. I have a game on the 24th of June so either before or after, (preferably before).
Have been talking to a few users about plans, just seeing if anyone else would like to join. I want to go to Carnivore (restaurant) and Lion Park as well. I am in J'burg from the 16-21 and have 3 games (Arg vs Kor, Usa vs. Svn, Cdi vs Bra). All other days are open and I am pretty much down for whatever and just looking to have a great time. Any ideas? Also, I want to shop, we only have a Kmart on our island (St. Croix), so traveling to a big city means big stores! I would love to get some gifts for friends that are uniquely African as well as just clothes and whatnot. Any ideas?
Hey man, I am going through kruger solo. Not sure if you want to come along (we split car rental fees and stuff.)
Hey, how much are you thinking it will be? And when/how long? Im on a budget so, if its cheap im up for it. The reason why im looking at pilansberg is b/c its really close to rustenberg where i have a game, and if you got your own car(or rent) it should only be 45 rand.
Small and cheap - beaded key rings, beaded animals, Rooibos tea, beaded necklaces, wooden spoons with animal motifs, wirework cars, flowers, animals. Can be found in curio shops and airport (v expensive) - cheaper options are next to the road in Witkoppen (jhb) and Jean ave (Centurion), Rosebank Rooftop market on a Sunday, Irene market (every 2nd and last Saturday), At Hartbeespoort dam on the way to Rustenburg, Near the Kruger gates. More expensive - large wooden animals, masks (not S. african but at least african) baskets, paintings, carved wooden figurines and bowls, pottery , intricate beadwork, South AFrican wine , AMarula Cream , Witblits (like moonshine), Biltong, Carol Boyes Pewterware. Clothes shopping - you can find local brands at Woolworths, Naartjie (kiddies stuff), Out of the Blue, flea markets. Just go to any huge mall - in Jhb=Sandton City, Cresta, Eastgate, Westgate, Northgate, Southgate (duh), Fourways mall - the list is endless. Pta=Centurion Mall, Mall at reds, Brooklyn mall, Menlyn (the biggest), Kolonnade. Happy Shopping! Bring empty suitcases (and winter clothes - you are going to get cold!)
Oh I know I am going to freeze... I haven't been in weather below 25 C (80 ish F) in nearly a year... and that includes nights! I will be staying in: Suideroord Johannesburg South Africa 2091 What is the closest mall to me? what does PTA mean? I am going to miss the Irene market, so where would you recommend picking up masks, paintings and such? Also, any idea if I am staying in a safe neighborhood? Sorry for all the questions, I just haven't been to a big place in so long and am already overwhelmed haha.
