Looking for some help from any statos out there.

I got in to a drunken debate last night about penalty shoot outs and those individuals who have missed in semi finals, finals etc...

The argument was based around big name stars being fairly reliable in such instances, I disagreed.

Unfortunately I was struggling to come up with some good examples.

    Baggio (USA94)

Anyone out there remember any others, Didn't Maradona miss in 94? also thought Platini missed in a tournament during the 80's

any help would be gratefully received.

I agree with you, although now that you've thrown down the gauntlet, the names are not exactly springing into my mind. Leave it with me.

*Possibly* not as high profile, but for some reason the memory that popped into my head while I was reading this thread was of watching the U-18 (? - one of 'em anyway) European Championship final (Ireland v Germany) a few years ago......the team of Keane, Doherty, Quinn, etc. Anyway, after a MOTM performance, and setting up our goal - which was the winner up until 10 seconds from time - Robbie Keane missed in the penalty shootout. Liam George was on hand to score after that anyway, but he was the least likely person of the 22 to miss. And he DID go on to become a big name star! ;)
