A&E is showing a biography on Pele Tuesday, August 13th.

Profile of the Brazilian considered to be the greatest soccer player who ever lived, but who is scorned by many in his own country. Pele scored 1,282 goals in his career, including 12 in World Cup finals; but to some Brazilians he is a sell-out, a white man's soccer puppet who played for a military dictatorship and gave little back to his people.

Thanks for reminding me. I'd just opened up BS at this board and saw your thread, ran back downstairs and turned on TV at 9.05...Damn! I missed 5 minutes but the rest was great.
    Fascinating stuff...!

    In conclusion:
Pele - wonderful footballer, maybe even as good as Garrincha.
Edson - naive and childish at best, greedy and corrupt at worst.
