Wednesday evening, we start our 360 minute marathon. And the team seems to be focused and has recalled the loss to Italy in the last U17 Championship. Surely they will not be overconfident entering these games. No doubt they will be well prepared. I expect the team to be strong and sure ... confident and composed. But one thing we must also be careful with is to keep our wits about us -- if we go up early ... even by a couple of goals. We need to make sure that we don't think we have the game sewn up and relax. The boys need to keep the "pedal to the metal" until the end of the game and continue after each goal like the game is still tied. We need to practice that killer instinct and concentrate for the full 45 minutes of each half. And only then, when the final whistle blows, can we relax ... and celebrate our victory!!! GO USA!!!
Before you respond to this, see IMDB for Animal House! (There. Hopefully that will stave off the youngsters.)
Don't you mean "pedal to the medal"? As in winner's medals? I know its horrible, but its par for the humor in the rest of the thread.
Comparing an awful pun to animal house... someone flash a yellow card. Oh sorry... someone has to: Wow, read a history book. The german's didnt bomb perl harbor, the japanese did. So ignorant. <insert smiley connoting sarcasm here>
