Chico is on hiatus until 2008. Apparently they are trying to work out home stadium issues with Chico State Univ.

Some NPSL clubs draw great, and some so-so and some not very well at all. Just like PDL clubs. I don't think there is much difference here between the NPSL and PDL if you average out the numbers.

And it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the quality of the play on the field. For example, I remember looking at PDL's Orange County Blue Star's attendance numbers and they were horrendous-- 50 to 150 fans at each game, at least early in the season in 2005 IIRC. But the Blue Star team has been an excellent on field performer over the last few years.

Albuquerque's attendance has been outstanding, relatively speaking. Several thousand for the Western Conference championship game, as I recall.

I'd say that both leagues have exceeded expectations at this point in time

That article has a bunch of cost-revenue numbers down-to-the-penny, if you are into the money aspect of this game.

in summary...a very innovative, smart, techie still manages to lose $20K...though I suspect that if he owned concessions he would be much closer to break even. If he could find a way in order to sell beer he'd likely be in the financial black.

Shows how owning your own yard is a game changer at any level. Concessions, beer, parking, not having to pay for field rental (which was his single biggest operating expense).

In opening round matches of the U.S. Open Cup, there were 11 matches played between NPSL and PDL teams. The game between Chicago FC United and Grand Rapids FC was postponed until tonight. In the remaining 10 matches, there were 5 victories for PDL and 5 victories for NPSL. Clearly, at the top end, the two leagues are very comparable...
