They were part of Roman empire and adopted a Latin language hundreds of years before Latin America was even discovered.
Latin America has been discovered since prehistoric times by migration from Asia and Oceania. Was there a Latin language back then? Do tell.
Just like I expected ... a comfortable but boring win for Uruguay. We won't know what this team is made of until someone really challenges that defense of Godin and Gimenez.
yeah... Truth be told Uruguay wanted to play, and the game would have been better if they had a tough opponent. But when you deliberately let the Saudis have possession (Uruguay have done it a few times) and see that they still can't score you're kind of - unconsciously - dragged to their level, which is what made the game unwatchable
Just pointed out that the concept of Latin didn't even arrive to the Western Hemisphere until many hundreds of years after Romanians were Latinized. This isn't opinion. It's just basic fact. If someone from Ecuador or Guatemala is Latin, so is someone from Romania.
Brazil. See? It isn't that hard to be nice. I don't think anybody disputes that there are more diving around in Brazil than in England (and, in my opnion, their style of play reinforces this more than their cultural differences) but it's a well-spread plague in the world today.
Then Uruguay will pay for being in a worst group. From Egypt and Saudi Arabia and even mediocore Russia to Spain. Failure is predeterminded.
Lucky you, I even asked the missus for a quickie but she turned it down too tired from sightseeing during the day. So I had to put up with this travesty of a game. I am nominating it for worst match of the decade.
And they did. That is their game. They weren't successful at scoring, but they don't mind ugly matches with opponents not really getting close to goal.
Oh, that's what you meant. Yes, I know that. That's exactly what I've said, too Thanks for the explanation
I know that they don't mind it. But I wanted to say (maybe I didn't explain myself properly), that in this game - unlike against Egypt - they entered the pitch with a "we must play, score, and win" mentality. It could only be my imagination, but again, I didn't see this mentality in their game against Egypt, which is why I said that this time they wanted to play
Add that even if they're losing, never think that they're done, they will come back at the last minute to tie it.
I like this Uruguay team. There is something about them. As I said many times: It will be very difficult to take them out.
