This game should be fun. Anything less than a win from Egypt and they aren't going to make it out of the group. In theory, that should force them to play a more open game than they did today.
Honestly can't see them doing it without Salah. So if he's out or even just fit for 20-30 minutes Egypt is out. Put Salah into the Abou Treika era team... that would be brilliant.
Salah: https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...test-update-egypt-uruguay-video-a8401046.html "As for Salah, it is probable that he will play. He didn't play because we wanted to avoid risks. He will be fine for the next match." I do fret however Russia will be able to get away with murder on Salah. Will be interesting to see how the complex tactical setup of 'give the ball to Salah' works at the World Cup.
That sounds more like Liverpool fanboy logic. Suarez was fit during the whole group stage in 2014, Salah is not. I doubt the ref will protect Salah if the Russians use force to keep a draw. Hopefully he will have some minutes next Tuesday.
Yeah. Hopefully it's not a game too late. Hard to even feel mad at their performance vs Uruguay. They were given the short end of the stick once the main and only reason they qualified was injured.
I still find Russia very beatable. They scored five but againstnthe worst team in this WC while Egypt nearly ties a very good Uruguay team without Salah.
not sure if Salah will be 100% ready but Egypt have nothing to lose by risking him starting The Russians do not look convincing and were lucky that their first game was against Saudi Arabia of all teams. Salah even just 80% match ready will cause them problems
From a complete soccer novice so please be kind if I'm incorrect, but Russia is the worse ranked team @ the WC (70th) and easily beat the second worse ranked team in Saudi (67th). Egypt look like a much tougher opponent. Although home crowd will help, I'll be backing Egypt to get the points. Thoughts?
I have no idea what will happen in this game and trying to predict this WC has proven to be futile, so I just hope it is a good game.
indeed, but what can you do? Some nations' quality is limited, so you have to go along with what you have
Salah dislocated his shoulder in the Champions League final and was held out of the first game to give him extra time to heal. Since they lost the first game, Egypt needs to win the next to games to guarantee advancement.
