what a decline of conmebol football.

5 matches, 1 lucky win of uruguay, 2 draws of argies and brazil and 2 losses.

    A. The pace of the game is great.
    B. Colombia and Japan are always entertaining at the WC
    C. Both teams will always have something tragically awful cost them a game(s) at the WC.

You are wrong. CONMEBOL is as strong as never. Don't look at Matchday 1 results. They are irritating.

CONMEBOL, that had an outstanding WC 2014, had a terrible first round of games

Iceland and Swiss opponents are always going to be tough.

I'm certain Brazil, Argentina, Colombia will grow as the tournament progresses.

Well, this group has completely been flipped outside down.

Considering Poland v Colombia play next round.. very interesting..

Does Japan now make it out of the group?

In all honesty, Japan has been playing with a man advantage the entire game.. and the whole first half Colombia was the much better side.. they have run out of gas, and Japan took advantage of it.

If Colombia was playing with 11.. i feel safe in saying the result would be different.. and that holds true for Japans next two opponents in Senegal and Poland, going up against Mane and Lew.. definitely gonna cause them problems.

    Yes.

He was player of the tournament last WC, got the Golden Boot scoring the most goals, and he lead his team to the round of 8 (quarterfinals). Lots of people think he scored the goal of the Cup. They would be wrong, Tim Cahill's goal vs Holland was better, but still.

As Jamooky said, he was quickly snapped up by Real Madrid, but he couldn't get regular playing time in a midfield owned by Germany's Toni Kroos and Croatia's Luka Modric. After two years he moved to Bayern Munich and he's been OK.

But given that he gets to play with Falcao this time, who was injured for the.entire WC four years ago meant that expectations were sky high.

Interesting that you call only Uruguay's win lucky.
So all other results were normal, expected and deserved, right?
Interesting point of view. Not biased at all.

From what I saw against France, Australia are perfectly capable of beating Peru and Denmark.
