Just when it seemed like Romania did enough to steal a point. Payet's brilliance saves the day.

 

Still a good result for Romania especially now with some 3rd place teams advancing. I think everyone assumes France gets 9 points, so if you're going to lose you might as well keep the goal differential low.

 

Remarkable player...France have so many match winners, so even when some are off form, there is always another top class player to step up.

Romania played well...should easily qualify if they can do that again two more times.

 

On the money.

 

I said pogba or France will find a way to win, even if it's in stoppage time. I was one minute off which is close enough.

What a dramatic finish. Romania looking good. They will be fired up against us.

 

Well I wouldn't say it'd have been a robbery. Romania was good and very hard to play. We got more chances than them but they knew how to disturb enough to get us missing them. If they play with this level of team quality I have no doubt they'll get to the round of 16.

What disturbed me the most is that despite Micoud, Carrière, Nasri, Gourcuff, Martin, Pogba and so on, the new Zidane is eventually Dimitri Payet. Thank you Nantes, thank you Bielsa.
