Top-rated player on Utrecht today. With the Feyenoord, win, Utrecht are locked into third. Could have been Paxten's last Utrecht match, with the next match not mattering and the team maybe wanting to rotate heavily.
Great campaign for Pax and Utrecht. I wonder if Frankfurt would be open to selling him. Europa league revenue on the way, but I'd imagine Utrecht would be better off buying multiple players rather than splash on Aaronson
Every player has his price, etc. but I doubt Utrecht will buy Paxten. They haven't paid 4m million for anyone in the last 12 years while Paxten is a better player than he was when Frankfurt paid that to sign him. This pre-season/season will be decisive. With 3 seasons left on his contract, it's time for a return on Frankfurt's investment and that can only come from first team play or a sale. And there's also the question of whether Paxten should agree to join Utrecht permanently rather than, say, PSV, AZ or Club Brugge with their guaranteed EL or even CL football. IMO he shouldn't. As for Utrecht, as you said, with CL qualifification gone the chances of them signing him permanently this summer are pretty low. A smart FO would avoid signings with large up-front transfer fees and look for guys similar Paxten back in July: young, not quite breaking through at quality sides but still rated by their club to sign on loan-with-an-option deals and trigger the options on performers if UEFA money becomes a revenue stream rather than a windfall gain.
Paxten on in the 72nd minute of a scoreless mostly meaningless match with Fortuna Sittard. Only a handful of touches in his potential farewell match.

Bench of the Year! (kidding of course, was a very good season for Pax - and Utrecht, for that matter.)
I did not realize how food of a season this guy was having. Rare for us to have two brothers that are both good enough for the national team.
Who are some other brothers who were in the NT pipeline? All that comes to mind are Damarcus Beasley and his brother.
Now? Sullivans, Gomezes, Booths (all dependent on how deep one goes in the pipeline). Roldans though Alex never really made the youth Nats picture. Old school? Hendersons.
